We stayed in The Great Southern Hotel in Killarney. Our return visit was excellent with professional, friendly staff, excellent food, lovely ambience, olde world charm in surroundings but well maintained.

I recently stayed at Adare Manor and engaged Barry for two day trips to the Dingle Peninsula and the Cliffs of Moher. Barry is very knowledgeable about Irish history, politics and geography. He was very interesting to talk to and I really enjoyed our time together! Definitely the highlight of my trip to Ireland!

Hi John,
Many thanks for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. It is very much appreciated.
It was a pleasure to spend two days touring with you, and our conversations on history, geo politics and geography made both days very enjoyable. You also educated me on some very interesting aspects of golf.
I really enjoyed the tours with you and hopefully our paths will cross again sometime.
Thanks for choosing Classic Ireland Guided Tours.
Best wishes,
Barry

We joined another couple for a customized guided tour of the south half of Ireland. The other couple had picked out Barry from online reviews, and in this case it was sage advice! He was knowlegable about Irish history, current events, geography, and the list goes on. He was always on time to pick us up from our hotels, was very polite and had good recommendations on food and other activities. I can't imagine touring the country without the added flavor of his Irish accent.

Greetings to my friends from North Dakota,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. I really appreciate that. Im delighted to hear you enjoyed our tour from Dublin to the South West of Ireland. It was a pleasure to be your guide and our discussions on very interesting contemporary matters added to the enjoyment of the tour.
Thankfully during our travels we managed to 'duck and dive' a small bit of wet weather, Im thinking of the Cliffs of Moher in particular. I thank you for being so flexible to make sure we got all the attractions covered in a slightly different order.
Overall, from my point of view, it was a geat pleasure for me to spend time with you and your group, and it would be fantastic to meet up with some or all of you if you pass this way again. You will always be welcome in Ireland so come back!!!.
Best wishes to all of you,
Barry

If you are in Ireland and need a guide, Barry is your man! He is so interesting and knowledgeable. We had a great time and learned so much about the island. We did two tours, 7 of us in all, and we were so comfortable and the scenery was incredible. Barry had some great recommendations of things we needed to see other than the two tours we did with him. We really had fun and would call him again if we get back to this beautiful country!

Hello Linda
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review of TripAdvisor. I really appreciate your feedback. I’m delighted to hear you enjoyed both trips and thankfully the weather held for us in two locations that are weather dependent.
I absolutely enjoyed the two days I spent with you and your family. I appreciate your contribution to both tours in the form of our discussions on history and current events. I think overall you enjoyed your time in the Killarney area and you certainly did ensure you experienced as much as you could of what the area has to offer.
Please come back this way again sometime. There is much more to see that your time on this trip did not allow. It would be fantastic to meet up with all of you again sometime.
Best wishes and thanks again,
Barry

Thank you Barry!! Barry provided us an excellent customized tour, taking the four of us throughout all of Ireland. Highly responsive to our emails before we arrived, he gave us great advice about where to stay and what to see. During our week-long tour, we visited castles, state-homes, abbeys, the Cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, and Slea Head Drive. Barry was the quintessential Irish tour guide, providing both historical and contemporary context to all the sites we visited. Barry is definitely a 5-star plus, plus, plus tour guide. Outstanding, very memorable tour of the Emerald Island. Most highly recommend Barry!

Greetings to recent touring friends,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. It is very much appreciated. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your trip, and you certainly packed in a lot of locations. I specifically remember and enjoyed our deep discussion on matters of law, international politics and issues nearer to home. I learned a lot from you, and I thank you for sharing your extensive life experiences with me. It was fascinating. Our tour covered a lot of ground but as we discussed there is a lot more to see in Ireland.
Overall it was a great pleasure for me to get the opportunity to show you around my country and spend time in your company. It would be really great you come back this way again soon. Come back!!!!
Best wishes to all of you,
Barry

My wife and I spent two full incredible days touring Ireland with Barry. We had never been to Ireland before, but felt like we were Irish by the end of day 2. He took us to wonderful places, but more importantly, along the way he shared an unbelievable amount of information that made us so knowledgeable about the country and it's people. Barry was so personable, and such a joy to be with that we felt like we were part of his family! Each day went by so quickly because of the engaging conversations that were had each day. I couldn't recommend a more professional highly qualified guide. My wife and I travel quite often, and Barry helped make this one of our best trips ever! Kudos to you Barry our friend!

Steve and Karen,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. It is very much appreciated.
I spent two wonderful days with both of you, and yes I too felt I gained to friends. I really enjoyed our chats about history and in particular contemporary politics. We might not have solved all the problems of the world, but we certainly tried!!!.
Im delighted you enjoyed your tour here, but both of you contributed so much to two very enjoyable days for me. Now that you feel Irish, you must come back again!!!.
Best wishes to both of you and hopefully our paths will cross again in the not too distant future.

Hello Laurie, Barbara and Theo,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. I really appreciate it.
I’m delighted you enjoyed your day tour which I remember well. We completed a full circle from your lovely accommodation and took in the sights. I had a great day out with all of you and we certainly had a bit of fun on our travels, as well as some serious discussion as well.
It would be great if you came back to this area again, there is much more to see. And if you do I would be delighted to spend more time in the company of three lovely ladies.
Best wishes and thanks again,
Barry

An flawless experience to organize and an epic outcome for our 8 day tour throughout Ireland. Barry is the ultimate professional tour guide - always on time, considerate, helpful and knowledgeable. To start, I wanted a tour throughout Ireland to include Northern Ireland (Belfast, Derry) and the top spots in southern/republic of Ireland. I contacted Barry and provided him the number of days we would have, starting with a few days on our own in Dublin - we had a group of 5 adults. Barry quickly put together an itinerary, tuned to exactly what we wanted and was careful to consider the age/mobility of our group - as in, no super excessive walks. He also provided a list of recommended hotels in each city for my review and booking.
Barry picked us up on a Saturday morning from our hotel in Dublin and artfully provided a tour of a lifetime, explaining history, local customs and just about anything we wanted to know. The van he used was very comfortable and spacious, and he scheduled the right amount of food and bathroom breaks along the way. I really could not have imagined it going as well as it did.
I would highly recommend using Barry and his tour company and wish I could clone him in other cities/countries.

Hello Kevin,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor.
I’m delighted that you and your group enjoyed your trip to Ireland. We certainly covered a considerable amount of the country, from the very north (Ballycastle) to the very south (Cork). In particular we certainly had an interesting time observing contemporary history in Belfast.
Tour with all of you was a very enjoyable experience for me. All your group were a delight to interact with. Thank you for that.
Please come back again sometime, it would be great to meet you and/or any member of your group again.
Best wishes,
Barry

Barry O'Rourke was our fantastic guide for the three days we spent on the West Coast of Ireland. He took us on 3 day trips, dropping us off and picking us up from the places we chose to overnight. His easy going manner and knowledge of both the places we saw, as well as general information about Ireland, made him the perfect guide for us. We highly recommend Barry as a guide, whether for day trips or longer ones.

Greetings to my friends from Long Island,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. It is very much appreciated.
I’m delighted you enjoyed your tour in the south west area of Ireland. It was a pleasure for me to spend three days with you. We certainly had great discussions on contemporary political events, in particular Northern Ireland. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Belfast and that our discussion helped both of you to understand the complexity of history in that part of a Ireland.
Please come back sometime, there is much more to see and I think both of you will find it very interesting.
Regards,
Barry

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on Trip Advisor (and Facebook).
Im delighted to read you enjoyed your two day tours. It was a pleasure to spend time with all of you and to get the opportunity to show you The Killarney National Park in particular. The weather certainly help show South West Ireland at its best.
I certainly can detect you have a special place in your hearts for Ireland. I hope you come back again soon and see more parts of the country which are well worth exploring.
Best wishes to all of you and hopefully we will see you soon again.

Hi Barry, We are arriving in Dublin on May 23rd for 7 days and would like to see as much as possible. We would be happy to join other travellers or travel as a pair. Can you give me an idea of the cost of 6-7 days touring please?

Hi Maggie
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately I am already fully booked for your time in Dublin so I cannot offer you a tour. Sorry about that. I only got notified of you question today, thus the delay in replying. However Maggie I hope you have a great time in Dublin. There is a lot to see. Don't forget a night or two in the Temple Bar area. Safe Journey and Best Wishes, Barry.
