This is a really smart little statue honouring a priest. It is very realistic as you drive by. He is striding towards the Cathedral. He is illuminated at night time and is a very distinctive feature in Killarney.

It is worth stopping by this very lifelike figure and read the story of this heroic humanitarian priest. After WW2 he was honoured by the government's of USA, Great Britain and Italy

Worth stopping and learning a bit about...especially if you are doing a bike ride through the park...just stop and read and think about it...in a very picturesque park of Killarney.

Statue and info across from St Mary's Cathedral. You can visit both easily. This located right on the sidewalk.

This statue is on the sidewalk near the tourist office in Killarney. We drove by it several times but did not stop to see if there was a sign indicating what it was.

Great story, but it is a statue on the street. How is this possibly a 5 star stop - it takes 5 seconds.

I found the memorial and accompanying information boards very informative about a figure in recent history that I knew very little about.
