I loved the boat trip from Ross Castle to Lord Brandon's Cottage. Our guide, Rory, treated us exceptionally well and gave short insights and interesting facts regularly along the way. His companion, Ted, is a beautiful addition to the experience 🐕. I would highly recommend booking with him if anyone wishes to do the boat trip. I did not avail of the jaunting car or the shuttle bus back to Killarney, but both are available if desired.....

Dux (Donal) is the best part about this experience! He is so knowledgeable and friendly making a boat ride in a storm a pleasurable experience. The fact that it is absolutely gorgeous scenery helped make it memorable as well in spite of the weather we had. We had a group of 11 of us including my 88 year old mother. Dux was so helpful making sure she got in and out of the boat safely and kept her as comfortable as possible throughout. What a gem! We learned so much about conservation efforts in the area and Ireland in general. Plus it does not hurt at all that he has the best accent of anyone we heard on the whole trip! We could listen to him read the phone book. But as others have said, his passion for the land and its beauty is inspiring and what makes this not just an ordinary boat tour. Thank you, Dux! Your tour was definitely one of the major highlights of our whole 8 days in Ireland!

I thought I had signed us up for a casual boat ride to the Gap and was happy to see two very large enclosed blue boats when we arrived. And then I saw the boats we were actually going in and was a little concerned. Water is not my thing. My husband insisted we get in the boat with the funky captain that turned out to be Dux, the son of another captain there. This guy has to be one of the coolest guys in Killarney, I am sure of it. He and Clare were just awesome. The weather was questionable, and I don’t think I have ever been more soaked than I was yesterday, but we had such an amazing day. Laughed the whole time, had a blast, and learned a lot too. So fun. I typically only like water in my glass but we would do that again for sure!

Young Dux gave us an amazing boat tour after we walked the Gap of Dunloe. He had many interesting facts about the lakes, rivers, and National Park. He made it light, fun, and enjoyable. Great craic. Highly recommended!
