Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Really enjoyed our boat trip around the lake, was so easy to book on line, we boarded easily and sat outside and had a pleasant trip with lovely views and information. Only criticism is that it was difficult to hear the PA system outside. The boat captain and his first mate were helpful and friendly.

Was recommended by our hotel to do this tour and we were not disappointed. We walked to Ross Castle from town through the Killarney National Park as the day was nice and it only took us 25 minutes and it was a lovely walk. The captain on the boat was very funny and also gave great information on the area. For the price of €12 per person it was well worth it. We were very lucky with the weather, but the boat is covered so wouldn't worry about a bit of rain.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the informative, funny and relaxing boat trip the Lakes of Killarney on a dull Sunday in August. It was great value for 5 and very comfortable for the hour duration. The driver was full of Kerry wit and humour and even allowed my son to steer the boat for a few minutes which he was thrilled about. We were able to enjoy a picnic and tour the Ross castle grounds before the tour. It is a tour well worth booking on your trip to Killarney.

We were second in line to get in, when a group of 45 arrived. They let them pass in front of everyone, and of course, they all took the best seats (windows), leaving only aisles (with limited view) available. The one in charge of the group didn’t have any information about the booking when asked by the captain, no proof of payment, it was still not a problem…

I’ve travelled enough to understand that groups have priority lanes in museums. They have a schedule to follow, they can’t wait. In a boat??? We all leave and come back at the same time.

For this company, if you paid the full price by booking directly with them, you are second class passengers, and you take the leftovers.

I regret I didn’t book with the other similar tour. They have better overhead windows, so if you are stuck in the middle, at least you can see something.

Took the so called ‘one hour’ boat trip at 4 pm. Possibly the slowest boat in the world, (not that I was expecting a speedboat)doesn’t go very far on the lake - and back at the dock in exactly 45 minutes.
I’d happily appreciate a 25% refund to say the least!

Good afternoon, Thank you for your feedback. We have contacted you privately and I do hope we have rectified this. Our tour time also allows for boarding time and disembarking safely. The boat goes nice and slow so that the magnificent scenery on Lough Leane can be enjoyed, as advertised it is a lake cruise. Our tour is great value for money when compared to other activities locally and even though we are sailing with far less capacity to allow for social distancing, we did not increases our prices for 2021. We appreciate all feedback and do our best in these challenging times. Regards, Rose

Such a wonderful way to see one of Killarney's many beautiful lakes. The captain was brilliant and shared some great history and anecdotes as we took our trip. Takes about an hour, seating inside and outside, both very comfortable 👌 really reasonably priced too!

I have been on the lake 5 times this summer (year)
I took three groups of people . I must say that Johnnie the boat man and his assistant did more than magnificent job on all occasions. . I am constantly selling the trip to everyone I meet . I am a proud Kerryman and this boat experience is a jewel in the crown for Kerry and Killarney.
I would also like to mention the efficiency of Rose and the employees at the booking office . Each time I contacted them with my requests , they were a pleasure to deal with .
I am looking forward to my next trip already .
Keep up the good work ..
Well done

We prebooked the boat tour for 4:00 pm and when we arrived there was no one else around. Apparently we were the only customers! The two men working the boat took us out for our own private ride around the lake. Can't get any better than that! And it was a gorgeous day - so even better! At their recommendation we walked back to our hotel from the lake, which was such a fantastic walk. Thanks again!

In the boat you can really appreciate the beauty and size of the lakes. My compliments for the crew as they tell a great many details about the lakes and it's surroundings as well as its history. I absolutely recommend to go on a tour!

My 2 daughters and I took the return boat tour from Ross Castle to Brandon Cottage.
It was wonderful , the Lakes were beautiful and we were fortunate to see Both Red and Sika deer on the riverbanks .The 2 boat captains Raymond and Donal ( different captain for the return journey ) were so knowledgeable and so good with the kids .
The captains spaniel Ted was a constant source of entertainment for the girls on the outward journey and when Donal let the girls steer the boat on the way back they were delighted .
A great bot trip , I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
