The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. Pre-booking avoids disappointment Locations for Hawk Walks may change due to conditions but normally 5/10mins drive from Killarney town centre Kind Regards Killarney Falconry Geoffrey 0872401551 / 00353872401551

This is a must do for everyone who have a couple of hours spare time in Killarney. Beautiful birds, great scenery during the hawk-walk and Geoff's friendliness and knowledge about falconry & it's history was truly remarkable.

First just know that you need to call and book you can't just show up. The bishop Moynihan address is no good. Also, you're meeting a guy with a van in the middle of the forest and it isn't weird. We were given GPS coordinates and met Jeffrey on the road. We were introduced to Texas the hawk. Jeffrey was... More

We spent an hour with Liam from Killarney Falconry in late October and had a great time. The weather was beautiful as we walked along a field. We wore gloves and the hawk would fly to our hand when we held a piece of chicken. Liam was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Before leaving, we were able to hold two owls... More

I surprised my husband with this "halk walk" because he enjoys falcons. We had a great time. Liam was awesome and answered all of our questions and was very informational. I happened to fall in love with Mr.D the cutest barn owl ever.

We had a great time interacting with and learning about these amazing birds. Using the coordinates Geoff provided, the navigation on my cell phone brought us right to our meeting spot without any problem. Geoff and his birds were so fun to be with, we could have stayed all day. Not to be missed if you like nature and something... More

This was easily one of the highlights of our trip! Liam is so fun to talk to and made us feel very comfortable. His knowledge of falconry is impressive. Not only did we get to experience Donatello (Harris hawk) in action but we also got to hold and pet 2 owls- Mr. D (Irish barn owl) and Gandalf (Grey owl).... More

We had a great time with Liam, Arizona ( a hawk), and 4 owls. Liam was very personable and explained everything about the birds very well. He made our interaction with the birds an experience that I will never forget. Especially when Arizona landed on my head!

This was a planned experience as there were many positive reviews. The location was difficulty to find, but Geoffrey was patient and informative with a couple of phone calls while in route. The hour with Arizona (Harris hawk), Mr. D and Gandolf (Barn and Gray owls, respectively) was hands on and one that we will never forget. Liam was our... More

Spent an unforgettable hour with Liam (human), Donatello (Harris's hawk), Mr. D (barn owl) and Gandalf (grey owl). Liam was easy-going, funny, full of information, and so great with the birds. We had loads of hands-on with the birds, on their terms of course, including feeding, petting, and generally serving as a perch. Wish I could be a falconer. It's... More

This is a must-do adventure for those who prefer to include less touristy activities in their vacations. Our tour guide was Geoffrey. He was very personable and informative. We were able to have direct experience with several different types of birds while learning about each species.
