Established in the late 1960’s, our horse riding stables can expertly provide each and every customer with a unique horse tour tailored to their individual level of riding ability. We offer Hacking, Trekking & Trail Riding in Killarney National Park for 1, 2 and 3 hours taking in views of Ross Island and beautiful views of Killarney lakes and Mountains for the casual visitor.

Very well organised business with high regard for the safety of riders. I read a couple of reviews here where reviewers who said they were intermediate riders seemed unimpressed with their experience. As two fairly capable riders, we were very happy with our 2 hour trek and it met our expectations of a trek in a national park where paths must be kept to. Our guide, Natalie, an experienced horse woman with a genuine love of horses, guided a great ride with plenty of opportunity for safe cantering. Also, very steady horses that know their jobs. If you fancy yourself as a contender for the Aga Khan/rodeo this probably isn't the place for you but if you are looking for an enjoyable, safe trek in a beautiful setting, this is your place!

We stayed in Killarney to celebrate out honeymoon with our young son and decided visit the riding stables and get a tour of Killarney park before we left.
It was a fantastic experience for all of us especially since none of us had been riding before but that didn't matter as out both guides were absolutely brilliant and very experienced.
The tour group was a good size and everyone was spread out well.
From start to finished were loved the whole tour granted after the 2 hours we were all a little sore.
We got to see the park and lakes from vantage points were hadn't seen through the trip and off the normal trails.
It is defiantly something we will be doing again if we return to Killarney.
Our 8 year old son had a fantastic time and is still talking about his little horse Harry.
It was a wonderful way to finish off our honeymoon and would really recommend anyone visiting to give it a go.

Great afternoon out in amazing scenery. The horses are matched up to your level experience and height. You normally go out in groups of 8 to 10. You are provided with helmets and boots. We took the 2 hour guided tour through the Killarney National Park which will reward you with a horseback view of some of the most stunning sights in the world. Picking the week that kids go back to school is normally a good bet for fine weather in Ireland and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The horses don't need much handling, except to maybe pull them away from eating shrubbery on the way. Be warned they are large powerful animals but also so gentle and smart. You do share the path with bikes, walkers and carriages but the guide was super experienced and knew which side we should be on to be safe at all times. She also had a lot of great knowledge about the sights and history of the area, along with the gift of the gab. I loved every minute and will definitely be returning. Oh yes, your bum will be sore after, but worth it. 75euro for 2hours of lifetime memories.

I loved this place! My first time even being up close to a horse and it's safe to say I was extremely nervous. Emma and Alison made me feel so safe and at ease and the horses were so calm and very tolerant. I highly recommend this to anyone local or anyone visiting the area looking for activities. Thank you so much, another tick off my bucket list! x

I can’t say enough positive things about our experience with Killarney riding stables. Safe reliable horses who know their job, friendly informative guides (Joanne and Alison), knowledgeable owner who matches guests with just the right horse, and beautiful scenery with just the right amount of beach and trails. We did the 5 day ride, with about 4 1/2 hours a day in the saddle each day. Being fit will help. Our group walked, trotted and canter each day. The ride was set up with safety in mind and this team knows their horses. If you’re looking for a crazy barely in control gallop on the beach this is not the ride for you. If you’re looking for a safe, thrilling ride with plenty of riding at all 3 gates this is the best! About me- I’ve owned horses for over 30 years with experience fox hunting, competing in U.S. Hunters and Jumpers, I’m in my 50s. My friends on the trip had both more and less experience than myself and we all loved it.

As an experienced rider, I always find it important that when riding outside of my barn that I am given the chance to not just walk at the pace of a tourist. This place afforded me and my partner the opportunity to ride with an experienced guide at an experienced level. The three hours we spent were absolutely fantastic and we wish we had more time. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the park and wildlife giving us great bits of info along the way. The horses we had (James and Peter) were absolute gentlemen and were great for our level of experience. If you are not an experienced rider I still recommend this organization because they cater to all levels of experience. Lastly, the staff is amazing when it comes to customer service; from communication beforehand to the day of activities. I most certainly will come back on my next trip and ride with these folks.

Our two hour horseback riding was beautiful and fun. We were well fitted out for our rides by the delightful staff. There were just 4 of us in our group. One very experienced and 3 willing but not so experienced. The leader was able to keep us all moving and upright! The experience rider was given a chance to canter and the rest of us learned to trot. It's harder than it looks!
Make sure to wear pants that can tuck into your boots. I got a bit of a rub wearing pants that did not go all the way down. My fault, not theirs. This is a fantastic way to explore some of the flora and fauna of the park. We got really close to a herd of red deer. Highly recommend this expereince.

Just left the Killarney riding stables and to say it was a fantastic experience is an understatement. The place was immaculate, the horses looked happy, healthy and well fed , the guides were superb. The three ladies who accompanied us were so knowledgeable and friendly and seemed to know each and every horses personality traits and quirks.
I would highly recommend the Killarney riding stables to anyone from beginners to experienced riders.

I’ve ridden in multiple countries and can say this was one of the best run stables I’ve encountered. Very professional and safe. Horses and equipment well cared for. The National Park is stunning and two hours flew by. Did all my reservations online from the US. Very easy. I do wish I would have asked about a private ride option (didn’t see it on the website) but understand these rides are usually geared towards the less experienced riders, who the guides did a great job with. They were quite busy but they have so many horses they were not overworked which is important to me.

We couldn't have asked for better horses or guides (two lovely ladies, Alison and Victoria, and an intern Mika) on our 5 day fun filled ride featuring Ring of Kerry attractions.
Our group had originally booked this trip back in 2019 but due to Covid we had to wait for two years for our actual ride to come to fruition - WELL WORTH the WAIT! Both Hidden Trails (booking agent) and Stable management went above and beyond to accommodate our delay and we are very thankful!
Our group ranged in ages from 9 to mid 60's and horses were paired well with each persons riding abilities. This is a horseback trip for conditioned riders - quite a few long hacks at trot and canter. Absolutely stunning views at every turn. We did encounter typical Irish weather (rain) but we didn't allow it to dampen our spirits... Be sure to pack a few sets of rain gear and you will be enjoying a fabulous week.
Lodging was first rate and all of our meals were scrumptious. Wonderful progressive ride, but it helps when you stack the odds by going with great friends! On to our next riding adventure, see you soon ladies, and gent!

I was there in December and waited for the afternoon, as it’s quite a bit warmer. In warm weather, I would assume either to be a perfect time. It’s a pleasant ride with some beautiful views, and herds of red deer.

I would head towards Dingle as there’s lovely beaches to ride there & quite a few stables.
If your travelling around Ireland I went beach riding in Clare a couple of years ago with a great company called Mountain View trekking just outside Lisdoonvarna.
