Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you’re looking for a good pub with atmosphere then look no further. ‘Wet led’ pub (so no food) with decent beer range (sells Beamish on draft, which is a plus). You’re probably likely to hear some live local music too, often impromptu. Great for drinks with friends. Mind you, could do with altering the tiny double doors at the the entrance. Everyone seemed to clatter through unceremoniously when arriving!

The trio of guitar mandolin bohdran/vocals had the best repertoire of any group we heard on our trip. Even a slip jig (try counting it.) They play a lot but don't seem tired. Tight quarters but worth it.

Sat outside (during covid) and had a boy come out to our table all night and look after us with drinks (Fiachra). Really good service with lots of choice of drinks. We payed after every round which worked well. The atmosphere on the street was fantastic with a busker playing his guitar just beside us. Couldn’t have worked out better x

We were in tonight and Niall served us. He was so lovely and helped us any time needed. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer server. Always checking to make sure if we needed anything and ensuring everything was okay with us, so impressed with him! Such a lovely fella would recommend to anyone

Thanks for the positive review Aoife, In these strange times we have had to adapt and none have adapted better than our Niall who is playing an absolute blinder!

Don’t waste your time. We picked this bar after seeing the “4.5 star reviews” but not sure how it received such raving reviews after our experience. The bartender with a tarantula t-shirt was a completely “cheeky” and very unwelcoming; us being there seemed to have inconvenienced her. Every beer we asked for either was out or tap wasn’t working. After two beers weren’t available, we asked for an Irish coffee and she couldn’t be bothered to make it, even though the bar was dead. Her unfriendliness drove us away. Don’t waste your time, the place is littered with so many pubs with bartenders who don’t hate their life.

My friends and I stopped at Courtney's for drinks on the recommendation of a local and were not disappointed. The bartender was very professional with quick service and friendly conversation. There was a fireplace by the bar and our entire party was extremely grateful for the opportunity to dry off and warm up after one of the typical Irish rain showers.

This is my second trip to this bar, When I first visited Killarney, in February 2024, it was an absolute delight. Friendly staff, good pints and warm and friendly atmosphere. They had great music. Fast forward to December 2024, something terrible has gone wrong in this bar. The place was absolutely Baltic no heat, no fire. People were actually leaving the place. The toilets are filthy wouldn’t be fit for a dog to go into never mind a human. Who ever is running this bar hasn’t a clue and if continued the bar will be closed in a couple of months. An absolute shame

Spent a couple of nights having drinks in Courtneys during our stay in Killarney. Due to Covid restrictions, there was only outdoor seating available. Staff were friendly, helpful and overall provided a very good service.

Great pints and music! This is a gem of pub in the centre of Killarney town. Really enjoyed the music and the atmosphere was very chilled. Staff friendly but could definitely see they were under pressure like most places, so fair play guys.
