The guided tour was very informative and the exhibition interesting. The surrounding grounds are well laid out to take advantage of the beautiful setting.

If you like history, this was a very neat experience. It's about $5 to enter the castle, on a guided tour only, you cannot tour the castle on your own.

The castle is mostly rebuilt on the inside, but they did a great job trying to keep as much of it as original as possible. The tour guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the castle and the history. The castle isn't very large, takes about 45 mins for the tour, but well worth it if you have time and it sits on the edge of a beautiful lake and scenery.

Ross Castle is fairly small but the setting on the lake makes up for that. There are better castles in Ireland but the Castle is close to a few other attractions in Killarney National Gardens so worth visiting.

There are boat trips on the lake from right in front of Ross Castle , free parking , a few stalls & food

We stopped our buggy ride in front of this castle and it was very pretty indeed. We did not walk up and get a closer look having to keep moving for the days activities but it made a great backdrop.

A beautiful setting with pathways to explore the property. Gravel pathways; plenty of parking, horse drawn carriage rides, swans on the water and boat rides! Easy to get to and around the castle with a wheelchair; but not inside since the footing is rough and there are several places with steps.

Our tour guide was great, just the right mix of historical fact and interesting information about everyday life in the tower house, the tour was about 45 minutes and we were lucky enough to get on a tour without having booked in advance. Well worth a visit and as it is publicly owned, cheap at 5 euros. Specially good on a rainy day too.

Our tour of Ross Castle in Killarney, Ireland, helped us understand some of the many features of the older castles that we visited that were just ruins. Photographing of the items in the restored rooms was prohibited.

I visited Ross Castle in early March. On the day of my visit the weather was rainy and windy, so there were no jaunting or boat rides operating in the area. I had not expected the castle to be offering tours, but they were. The tour had not been on my wish list but I am very glad I did it. It was a private tour because there was no one else there.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She made the castle come alive and explained the history and everyday life there. She explained the different rooms, walked upstairs to view each floor, explained how it was defended, the reconstruction process, and so many other interesting tidbits.
Great tour of a small castle.

There was significant flooding so we're not sure if that's why it was closed or due to COVID. So we could not enter. Walked around the grounds which was pretty.

The castle itself is beautiful and interesting (and very convenient to drive to and park), but the real treat is hiking around the grounds to all of the different lookouts and spots
