Nice
Aug 2021
Went to farm on a nice sunny day (advisable). Can purchase small cup of food to feed animals (sheep very appreciative). Goats have free reign to mingle with people and are not shy, but very nice. There is animal petting at 3pm and queue moved quite well. A couple of rabbits and hamsters also. Kids enjoyed it. Plenty of sinks to wqash hands after. Shop on site for coffee/tea/drinks and ice cream. Nice playground on site, small and good bench tables for eating at. I would expect that approx 1-2 hours would do it as not that big, but was clean and well run. Make sure to read signs for each animal, as it will advise you that some animals can bite (donkeys), and you need to supervise younger kids who don't know that or older kids who dont know how to feed animals (flat palms). Overall, very enjoyable.

Great fun
May 2021 • Family
Visited this pet farm with our toddler.
She enjoyed it so much that we returned a second time a few days later.
The unique part of the pet farm is that it has 2 playgrounds surrounded by lots of animals.
For example children can pet Sheep under the slides.
There is also allocated times to pet animals such as the rabbits.

Our little ones highlight was when a goat jumped up
On the table and took my flapjack :)

Very interactive pet farm
Aug 2020 • Family
We visited Kennedy’s pet farm last Saturday and we loved it. My son is 3 and he got real hands on experience with the animals the good and the bad 🤣. He could rub and feed all the animals with seed we purchased from coffee shop. He tried picking up a goat and got a “gentle” nudge of the goats head which thought him an important lesson on how not to handle animals! The animals are all very well taken care of and foul play is not tolerated. It’s well worth a visit but I’d advise you to bring a lunch as there isn’t much in the way of food.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit to our farm. The goats are for sure the bosses of the farm!! We hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Kennedys pet farm.

Fantasic animal welfare
Aug 2020 • Family
This is by far the best Pet Farm Ive visited in Ireland. I have 4 kids and they all loved it so much. Its very clear that the animals are very very well looked after and that is the most important thing in my books and unfortunatley its very uncommon. Such a great welcome from all the staff, very clean and adhearing to all covid measures. Could not say enough about this place.

Great family afternoon
Aug 2020
Really enjoyable afternoon. Prebooked online. Went with my 14 year old daughter who loves animals. Everything was very well run. The animals were available to feed (5oc for a little tub of food - great idea!) and to see up close which was a bonus. The owner was very welcoming and also alert to social distancing asking a queue of people to come back in a little while for the petting of the kitten/rabbit/guinea pig rather than queue outside the barn. This session was also well run with one family or child per table - the animals were supervised by the friendly staff while the kids got to interact with them. The occasional sheep roaming free outside added to the fun. Coffee shop very clean and also well run. Would visit again.

Left feeling concerned about some of the animals
Jul 2020 • Couples
This farm is in a lovely setting and many of the traditional farm animals seemed very happy. However we were concerned and depressed at the conditions that some of the more domestic animals were kept in.

The guinea pigs had no fresh hay, which should make up 70-80% of their diet and be available 24/7. I asked a member of staff if the guinea pigs and rabbits get hay and she said no, that this had been a recent change and she wasn't sure why, but that maybe it was easier to clean without hay. Really worrying.

There were also a number of pens which had rabbits and guinea pigs housed together - this is dangerous and is advised against by the ISPCA. None of the guinea pigs/rabbits had any hideaways for shelter (important for making them feel safe), enrichment/toys, or clean water, only dirty water.

There was also a very scrawny cat kept in small pen - she seemed just skin and bones with 3 little kittens to care for.

Unfortunately these specific cases are our lasting memory of our visit to the farm and would put us off going back, as it feels immoral to pay money to see little animals which should be enjoying much better conditions than they are currently. I did email the farm to highlight these concerns and give them a chance to respond before reviewing on TripAdvisor, but they have not yet replied.

Hi Hannah, I'm sorry you didnt enjoy your visit to the farm. The rabbits and guinea pigs get fresh grass every morning and throughout the day and at night. They wouldn't survive it they didn't get grass. What the staff member was referring to was the bedding underneath them. We take pride in our animals and care for them all to a high standard. Rabbits and guinea pigs are very safe together and have been reared together at the farm. Their houses are put in once the farm is closed. They are removed during the day so that the visitors can see them. The "scrawny" cat is feeding 4 kittens which is the reason she is so slim. She is kept inside during the day so she wont be handled by visitors for her safety and the kittens safety, they are only 6 weeks old... The pen is opened once the farm is closed and she is free to go in and out herself. I am sorry you felt this way on your visit . If you had had asked to speak to me on the day and I could have answered any of your questions. As of yet I haven't received your email. Hope this answers some of your questions. Regards, Kennedys Pet Farm.

Jul 2020 • Family
This pet farm is set in a beautiful location and is extremely well maintained. The children love the animals, playgrounds and fairy trail. There’s also a nice riverside walk. Well organized for the current situation too with a specific petting time. Highly recommended for relaxed and enjoyable family time.

A little pricey but a well run place with a decent amount of small animals and a very good playground. Children enjoyed it.

Great family day out
Jul 2020 • Family
Kennedys pet farm is a very enjoyable and easy day out. As well as the Happy and clean animals (some of whom) wander freely around, there are 2 giant playgrounds to keep your little ones happy. The fairy walk is always enjoyable (and there's a third playground there).
The shop is lovely and they do a nice coffee.
They have great systems in place for the Post Covid era we are living in- you must pre book so numbers aren't too high. You've a specific time for petting the animals. Superb cleaning was evident throughout our time there. They close the farm for an hour to do a deep clean before the next group are admitted.
Well done to Kennedy's Pet Farm. A thoroughly enjoyable visit every time we go.
