We recently used Killarney Jaunting Cars while in Killarney. We done the Gap of Dunloe and Lakes of Killarney trip.
From booking the trip to the trip itself we were looked after with exceptional care, especially in these strange times.
We had two jaunting cars each of which were driven expertly through the beautiful Gap by Pat & Mary. They were both full of stories and genial banter on our journey.
On the return trip through the three amazing Lakes of Killarney Dux was our pilot. He’s a genuinely lovely guy who put our nervous youngest totally at ease.
A big thank you to Laura & Michael Tangney for putting this great day out together for us. Great memories were made on the day.
We will definitely do this trip again in the future.

Had a great trip to Ross Castle with Michael. Before we started he wiped the jaunting car with disinfectant, and had hand sanitizer in the door of the cab which he insisted we use.
The trip took c.25 mins (Each way) to the castle and along the way he was full of tall tales and fishy stories that the kids loved, definitely worth a try with kids.

We took a ride on the Jaunting Car through the Killarney National Park during a week's tour of Ireland. The experience was amazing. We were lucky with the weather, which helped. The scenery in the park was superb. The Jaunting Car itself was as comfortable as such a vehicle could be. The driver was both informative and entertaining with his witty sense of humour. He also showed a great rapport with the horse and treated the animal with great kindness.
It was a wonderful trip and thoroughly recommendable.

We did the Killarney Jaunting Car Tour combined with high tea at Great Southern Hotel. Our driver Johnny was informative but also hilarious…had me laughing at all his sly jokes. We arrived a few minutes early but he was ready for us and off we went. Even let us sit up front. The blankets were appreciated. The tea was lovely even though it was uncomfortably quiet in the tea room — nothing said louder than a whisper.

We booked a trip to Ross Castle based on the reviews of an “engaging guided tour through the National Park”. It was neither tbh. We got a young lad who quite frankly couldn’t have given a toss. We were booked for 3.15 so perhaps we were trip 4 or 5 of the day but still, he hardly spoke, when he did we didn’t understand a word. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience. I tipped him at the end for nothing other us being polite. I’m still angry at myself for handing over that extra bare minimum amount.

This The Gap of Dunloe Adventure & Lakes of Killarney Day Tour was the highlight of our 10 day vacation! It was run very well from the first point of contact at at Ross Castle wooden bridge. I do not know the name of our Jaunting Car driver, but his horse was Mickey Mouse. He talked "Horse" language to Mickey Mouse the whole ride. Excellent day! Next we boarded a boat with Rory! Rory was an excellent guide with lots of knowledge about the lakes, rivers and wildlife! Very fun day with Killarney Jaunting Cars and their Gap of Dunloe Adventure & Lakes of Killarney Day Tour!!

We had a tour with Danny and Paddy, it was brilliant, we all had a fantastic experience. Danny gave us background on the locations and we also saw Red deer 🦌 and Kerry Cows. I would highly recommend Danny and the jaunting car tours.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! It was a cool but sunny day and the scenery was stunning. Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable. We loved learning about the history of this place and walking around the castle. This was a highlight of our trip and could not have done anything better! Thank you!!!

We did a jaunting car tour around the Killarney National Park. We started and finished at Ross Castle. We struck gold with the combination of Michael and Jessie the horse. The rain clouds cleared and the sun came out at just the right time. Michael had some interesting and humorous banter including local history and plant identification. A very well spent 3/4's of an hour.

This was a super enjoyable experience. Our guide was Michael and he was great. He was very informative and had a lovely relaxed manner about him. He let us stop to get coffees!! He also let my 5 and 3 year old ride up front with them. They loved this. He was great with them. It was the highlight of their holiday. I would highly recommend this company and I would defo book a trip with them again.

I would like to book a tour for the 19th of September, late in the day......the 5:15 time slot if possible. There will be 4 Adults, no kids. Will it be possible to be picked up at our hotel and dropped off there too? Thank you.

Yes. We were picked up at the Dromhall Hotel in Killarney where we were staying and after a lovely trip around the National Park were dropped off back there. However, our tour guide had to arrange this with the Jaunting Car company in advance. I hope this helps.

What's the rate for four in May?

We have a group of 5 adults, 2 seniors (aged 66 and 75), and 3 toddlers (aged 2.5, 3, and 4). We all want to see the Gap of Dunloe but the tour said it goes to Lakes of Killarney and Gap of Dunloe making it a total of 5 hours. The boat portion looked like it was 2 hours or so. Does anyone have experience bringing kids this age on this tour? Also, is this something that would be okay for my grandmother who is 75? It will be late August if that matters. I appreciate any help with this just wanted to get some opinions of previous travelers.

The Jaunting Tour is fine for all ages. Very slow pace. Carriages are comfortable.

Hi, In relation to your question our Killarney Jaunting Car are very comfortable with no bouncing or jerking in any way. The cars are well sprung and balanced and have 4 wheels for comfort. The seating are cushioned and backrests padded. There are low steps for easy access and covered roofs for the weather.

Younger children might do better staying behind and staying warm if it is during the spring or fall time frame. The older children will enjoy the horse and wildlife that we could see. Lots of deer.

We can offer a variety of tour options depending on the amount of time you have in the area. I have sent a couple emails in the last few weeks via your website but I haven't heard anything back. Visiting in June and want to find out what our different options are for seeing the park and maybe other scenery in the area? Like what are the options, how long, cost etc. there will be three of us total - myself, a senior citizen and 14 year old. Are we able to park rental car somewhere for the tour? Thanks

Hello, we would like to book a Jaunting tour on June 20th in the late afternoon, but don't really know what time we would arrive. We have a party of three. Should we not pre-book and just hope there is room for us? Is a pre-book necessary at this time of year? We would be driving from Cork, through Kinsale and then directly to Killarney before checking into our hotel in Tralee. Is this too much in one day?
