One of our tour excursions during our coach tour stop in Killarney, was to take a jaunting car ride, through Killarney National Park, and out to where to see Ross Castle. It was an awesome experience, through a beautiful park. But what made the trip the best experience, was our jarvie (guide), who called himself "Magic Mike". He was full of information, telling stories and explaining things we were seeing, pretty much the entire time we were touring. This one was included in our tour, so I'm not sure what it would cost to do it. But whatever it is, it would be worth it. It's a couple hours you will thoroughly enjoy.

Our driver, Lewis, was on time. Very friendly and accommodating and told us all about the 6 generations of cart drivers and some of the local history! He waited patiently while we looked around the castle and took our picture in the cart, with Archie, his horse, and in front of the castle. It was one of our favorite things we’ve done on our trip! Highly recommend.

It was so much fun! The “driver” Paul gave information about things we were seeing and Killarney National Park in general. He was definitely a character. Our horse, Ruby, did a great job as well, although at the start and stop she’s a little skittish around the big buses. The park was lovely then got to Ross Castle and walked around a bit & got some hot chocolate. Paul even dropped me off at the horse parking area instead of the pinpointed start/stop zone as it was closer to the next place I was going. My only complaint is it didn’t last longer.

The driver was so informative and friendly. He takes excellent care of his horse and they obviously work very well together! The castle and literature about it is amazing!

A lovely early morning trip through the park with guide Johnny and his horse Franky. We loved the easy stroll and explanation about the flora and fauna in the area. Our Trafalgar Tour Guide, Mike Willis, did us right by this tour! Beautiful Irish countryside, lake views and even deer were seen, all with a light mist in the air and woolen blankets on our laps! What an amazing morning! I felt like an Irish Aristocrat back in the 1800’s.

Johnny was our driver and Sue was the power for our journey! Johnny was very informative and Sue was experienced on what way to go. This was a most enjoyable excursion. I highly recommend that anyone traveling to Killarney take time to enjoy this ride through the beautiful countryside!

One of the highlights of my trip to Killarney. A leisurely trip throught he National Park with John and his horse Billie. Met him in downtown Killarney. Really nice to be just our family of 4 (3 generations) in the jaunting cart. Our guide John chatted and answered questions - it was not the usual canned prepared speial you often get on holiday tours. Lots of interesting information about the places we saw and other activities we could do later. He knew just where to suggest pics and took them so that we could all be in them. Wonderful memories. Highly recommend!

Beautiful scenery. Great driver. Gorgeous horses. Saw a red stag, fawns, babbling brook, and it was a very exquisite ride. Recommend for a nice outing as a family or group.

The Gap of Dunloe Adventure Day Tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. It was a wonderful way to see the Lakes of Killarney, the Black Valley and the beautiful mountains. Our tour started at the wooden bridge near Ross Castle where we met a tour representative. The bridge is located next to a parking lot with ample free parking. The first part of the adventure was a boat trip through one of the lakes of Killarney. The boatman was knowledgeable and humorous. At the end of that lake we met another tour representative who directed us on a brief hike to meet the boat for the next part of the tour. It was nice to have the opportunity to stretch our legs and see another part of Killarney National Park. After another scenic boat ride we had a lunch break at Lord Brandon's cottage, We enjoyed our sandwiches and sodas= cash only. A tour representative directed us to our pony and trap jaunting cart. It was a fun and unique experience with beautiful views the whole way. A tour representative met us at Kate Kearney;s cottage and drove us back to Ross Castle in a mini van.
I was very pleased with the customer service provided by Tangney Tours/ Killarney Jaunting Cars. The tour was seamless. There was always a tour representative near when you needed to be directed to the next step of the tour. I chose this tour because it was all inclusive and the tour brought you back to where your car was parked. Highly recommend this tour and the company.
