After wanting to give it a go or a long time and learn more about the great outdoors, we recently joined the two day Bushcraft Level 1 course. What a couple of days! An amazing experience. We spent the whole 2 days learning and doing the whole time. Nathan was just brilliant as a guide, so knowledgeable on the outdoors that we just learned so much. Foraging, water gathering, sterilisation, a range of fire making and cooking skills, the list goes on and on. He taught us so much that I'm just glad that he sent us on some course notes after so we can continue to learn and practice our skills. On the Saturday night we had to sleep out in a shelter that we built. Being mid-February we were initially a but nervous about this part, but Nathan had us building solid warm shelters that I wouldn't have thought possible with the materials we had. All in all an amazing experience that we're still talking about. Being outdoors for 2 says and 1 night, cooking with limited utensils and equipment over fire and surrounded by beautiful woodland was just such a good reset to disconnect from modern day life. The course was super well organised and the location just amazing. We're looking forward now to either going back and doing this same course again, or moving on to Level 2. Thanks Nathan for an awesome experience

Our group of 4 had a brilliant time in Glengarriff, Mark was a great guide and made sure we were all comfortable and getting on okay in our kayaks. He had lots of great local knowledge and pointed out the natural beauty of the area including the seals and white tailed sea eagles!

Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent coaches for those of us who had not kayaked before. They also had great eyes, and were able to spit, and show us, deer and wild birds. Kayaking around Killarney Lake was just beautiful!
This was not a difficult paddle, and would be appropriate for families with children.

One of my favorite activities was our Sunset Kayaking on the Lakes of Killarney. Nathan was a fabulous guide, helpful and very informative about the lakes and the wildlife. He was an absolute pleasure. The beauty and tranquility of the lakes at that time was amazing. I even joked that I can toss out my Blood pressure medication, because of how peaceful the trip had been. I highly recommend this activity and we look forward to doing it again (and checking out the coastal kayaking as well).

I booked a 3h kayaking trip on the Killarney Lake for my team. Everyone absolutely loved it. Nathan, Hester and William are really amazing at what they do. They created a very comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere - we all felt very safe at all times. I definitely recommend them if you are in Killarney and want to do something fun and adventurous. Thank you Outdoors Ireland!

Thank you for all of the great reviews. My family (wife and two daughters, ages 13 and 10) will be visiting in August and I have a few questions. One, will my daughters be able to take out their own kayaks (they are both tall, the 13 year old is 5'6" and the 10 year old is 4'11") or will they sit in a double with my wife and I? Two, does the 3 hour tour travel through the caves or is that only on the 7 hour day long trip? Thank you in advance for your help!

Thanks for your question and apologies for my delay.
We would keep your kayak trip family specific and each of you would have their own boat. Our touring kayaks are all single person. If either of your girls begin to struggle the guide can tow them a little.
The half-day kayak trip goes through the caves also.
Please send an email to me if you would like to book this trip with us.
Thanks, Nathan - Outdoors Ireland
