I live near the Newport Mansions in RI, USA ... House is very similar to these but I still felt it worth the tour for the Irish history! Even more we liked the traditional farms and history we enjoyed along the way! Don't miss the farms! Nice cafe for lunch, dinner, or coffee/dessert!

We loved our jaunt ride here out to the waterfalls, and the meal inside was just what we needed. Quick and good sandwich.

House tour interesting, but the gardens!! wow...really lovely. Old growth, well established, very nice worth every step...every minute a delight. We had super weather the whole 2 weeks we were in Ireland and the day at Muchross was so beautiful. The "working old fashioned farm" self walk through tour also really fun, seemingly very authenic.

Our group of ages 8 years old to 65 years old took the tour of the Muckross House, which took about an hour long. Very interesting of how the wealthy lived in the 1800's. The house is stunning inside and outside. The gardens in spring are breathtaking, the kids could run and climb. Our photos of the kids in the... More

We spent a couple of hours here touring the gardens one afternoon. We were incredibly lucky to have a warm sunny day. The gardens are expansive and absolutely stunning. The rhododendrons were in beautiful bloom and the grounds were spotlessly maintained. Highly recommended!

Tours at Muckross house are given at certain times so be aware you may have to wait before the tour begins. I was able to look around part of the impressive grounds before my tour. The extent of the gardens is impressive and it is very well maintained. It was especially nice to visit in late April when flowers were... More

Visits are by conducted tour so check the timing for your visit. Small groups are then given a comprehensive tour and the full history of this very interesting and imposing house.

We had a lovely walk around the gardens which are gorgeous. Quite a lot of the azeleas were in bloom and the colours were glorious. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very enjoyable and quite reasonable. The restaurant was busy but there was no problem getting a table, there is a nice view of the garden as... More
