I recently spend a week touring around Killarney and the Ring of Kerry with my 14-year-old son in tow. We were both incredibly enchanted by the people, stories, food, and sights of the area brought to full life by Con of Hidden Ireland Tours. You don’t have to be Irish to appreciate the incredible mysticism of that country and there is no greater tour guide than Con Moriarty.

I spent the most wonderful time with Con touring the Dingle and Iveragh peninsulas, and the Ring of Kerry. His deep love and knowledge of southwest Ireland is contagious and he is an astute observer of life. Educated as a social scientist, as well as a trained mountain rescuer, he illuminates the present with historical context.

I arrived in Ireland on July 19, 2021 on the very day the country reopened to international travel in the aftermath of the pandemic. I felt perfectly safe, especially since our time was spent outdoors. Every hotel where I stayed took extra health precautions.

Con also suggested outstanding hotels and restaurants, and offered to make introductions in Dingle, Killarney, Ballylickey, Kinsale and Shanagarry. This was not my first outdoor adventure but certainly the best so far.”

Thank you for a most memorable Ireland journey!

We had Con booked as our guide to climb Carrauntoohil a few months in an advance and we found his communication excellent. On the morning of the trip we met Con at his house at the foot of the reeks where he ensured we had all the required essentials including boots which is most important. Our boys aged 15, 12, and 8 and were looked after extremely well by Con, we felt totally totally safe in his hands. The climb and return route which Con guided us on we can only describe as breathtaking, and included was one of the best history lessons of the area our chaps are ever likely to receive 🙂 Thank you Con for an experience we’ll never forget, we can’t thank you enough!!

We just returned from our 6-day trip through the west coast of Ireland. Padraig was our guide and driver and gave our family of 4 such a lovely experience! And thank God he was driving as we would have been very inept in managing the smaller roads and driving on the "other" side of the road. He covered a tremendous amount of distance during our short trip and was very flexible to our needs (traveling with 2 teenagers, including one with autism). We saw so many beautiful and interesting sites, the nature in "hidden" Ireland is spectacular. Padraig is so kind and knowledgable about the history and sites. He also worked in a few hikes for us which were so beautiful and memorable. Thank you to Kay and Padraig and Ciara and everyone on the Hidden Ireland team for helping us to have a dream vacation in Ireland!

I helped host a group of 20 16yr olds from US on a tour of SW Ireland. Con and Ann were with us all week and had a wonderful balance of energy, information, historical context, religious context, archeological context, geographical info, etc... and fun. They are very smart and nice conversationalists. The trip was packed full of hikes, laughter, in-depth conversation and reflection. They are great resources and a true asset to their country. They have passion for what they do which makes it a joy to be in their company.

This was my favourite part of our Ireland trip! Killian was our guide and he was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the landscape and Ireland in general! We had great chats about rock climbing and mountaineering!
The day we climbed it was very wet. There were waterfalls and rivers where there hadn't been before. Devil's Ladder was a waterfall all the way down. Even though Killian had never seen so much water on the mountain he guided us superbly through it all. It took us about 5 hours and was difficult, but very manageable. I really enjoyed that there wasn't a "trail", and that it was all very natural. I highly recommend this company for any guided trips!

We hired Con Moriarty's company to provide the two of us a driver/guide for several days to explore family areas in NW Cork and the Dingle/Killarney area. We had Padraig the first two days and he couldn't have been nicer; informative, courteous and enthusiastic to show us so many areas, especially lovely natural and historic sites off "the beaten path." Kay had found a local historian to help me find family sites in my ancestors' town in Cork and that was a very special day full of information. We were fortunate to have Con the last day to give us family history and a whirlwind tour of so many significant places to our family heritage. I am so glad we chose this company and didn't try to drive ourselves this first trip over. We accomplished so many travel goals and met lovely people at the same time!

Went on a guided tour with Con Moriartys company, Hidden Ireland tours. We found him great to deal with, very personable and the guide we had on the day was Killian who was so nice, knowledgeable but most importantly great craic! We had an excellent day from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel which is always so handy. If unsure at al i would recommend getting a guide.

We had a really rainy day but were were determined to complete it. It took 5 hours, we are two fit mid twenties. We took Brother O Sheas route, which involves scrambling but nothing that we found overly difficult. I recommend good boots, plenty of water and snacks for the top. I did not find it overly tough and worth it even with limited views, the lower valley and lakes are so pretty.

I would do it again and would recommend this company 100% :)

Our guide, Ann, gave our family of seven a personalized and very informative private tour of the Dingle Peninsula. She picked us up at our bed and breakfast and we began with lunch at a local pub before heading out to visit several historic/archaeological sites in the area. She then led us on a light hike with stunning views of the coastline. I was glad I had my camera! Ann was very friendly and knowledgeable, and was able to answer our questions about not only the local history but also about the beautiful flora and fauna we saw around us. When booking the tour, the company sent us several options for tour activities, and we were able to tailor the experience to the specific interests of our group. I would absolutely recommend Hidden Ireland Tours and Ann Curran as a guide!
