2 years ago, on our 3 week "mini -grand tour" of Ireland, we enjoyed many places, north and south, east and west. Countryside, seashores, cliffs and cities. The afternoon we spent at Kissane farm was a glorious sunny day and was the most memorable day we spent in Ireland, for sure. Border collie dogs and sheep scampered all over hills... More

I had heard for years about sheep dogs and the job they do but seeing it in person was a once in a lifetime experience, esp. in Ireland! We also got a chance to watch they sheer sheep and they allowed time at the end for petting. Sometimes if they have babies, you can feed them!

We visited Ireland in September/October, 2016 and spent a day in Kerry where we went to the demonstration on what is very much native to Ireland - Sheep Herding. This mountain farm (nearto Killarney National Park) is family owned for well over 200 years. That in itself is something to reflect on for endurance and remaining in one spot over... More

This was an interesting spot to stop. The border collies are very good at sheep herding and the farm is located in a gorgeous setting. We also watched the sheep being sheared, which gave us a sense of how much work goes into making wool. If you're not used to farm life, however, you may be put off by how... More

The landscape is scenic, even if the sheep farm wasn't there. Add the entertainment of the dogs herding the sheep makes it an amazing experience. Also saw the worker sheer a sheep and learned why the sheep have colors on their backs. Good little stop and learned a little about one of Ireland's large industries.

We visited The sheep farm with a touring Company group of 46. This attraction is great for small children and adults alike. We saw border collies herding sheep and afterwords saw a sheep sheering demonstration both of which were fascinating. Price of admission for adults was seven euros and four children five euros. Cost is very reasonable and the demonstration... More

Seeing the herding and shearing of sheep brought back wonderful childhood memories. The staff was friendly and welcoming! How many places can you go and adopt a sheep? What a great way of keeping people engaged in the farm!

Had a great time watching the border collies round up the sheep. We then had and razor shearing of a sheep. Learned lots about life as a sheep farmer. The hosts Noel, John and Jonathan were all great.

This is a great way to spend a little over one hour. You can see a working sheep farm and watch a great demonstration of the dogs that keep the sheep in line After that they will grab a big woolly sheep and shear the wool off into one big blanket They will explain a little about all those sheep...
