The tour itself was great. You got to see beautiful Irish country side, a guided walking tour around Galway, viewed the beautiful cliffs of Moher, and had lunch at a pub in Doolin.
Our tour guide started off as Richie, very funny and a good driver. He later switched off with Tommy who was also a great driver which was comforting being on a big bus going down tiny country roads. He also made good stops for pictures and pointed out the sites. They are very strict on time which I liked, but gave plenty of time at each stop.
We got picked up in Dublin at 7am, stopped at a convenience store on the way out for snacks and restroom break. Got to Galway around 9am, where Tommy guided us on a walking tour around the town and then let us off on our own with about an hour; we went straight to the pub lol. Met back at the bus and off to the cliffs! We took a windy country road where we stopped at the top for pictures. The weather started clearing up around then so it was nice. When we got to the cliffs it was very windy and cold but manageable and there’s a visitor center inside with a cafe, gift shop, and a nice informational display. We were there a little longer than we needed, but if the weather were warmer we could have spent longer walking up and down the edges of the cliffs. After that we hopped back on the bus, short drive to Doolin where we had lunch at a pub; we of course ordered fish and chips and a pint. The fish was delicious, but the chips not as crispy as we like. Here the fish was cod and tasted fresh, would definitely recommend. Staff was friendly and quick! Even with all the people from the tour. Got back on the bus for another scenic drive down the coast towards Galway to drop some folks off then back into Dublin.
The drive is pretty long so be prepared, we left Dublin at 7am and returned at 8:30pm. I usually don’t sleep in vehicles but I even dozed off for a bit. There was no WiFi on this bus so download a movie or listen to music. You can bring a pillow because we stayed on the same bus the whole time. I’d recommend bringing a backup battery for your phone as well. And a poncho would be a good cheap investment Incase it rains and also acts as a wind breaker. I wasn’t too cold because I had a wind breaker on and gloves, but I wish I had a scarf to wrap around my face at the cliffs; got a little numb there.
All in all, it was a great tour, we really enjoyed Tommy and Richie, they kept it very informative and entertaining. I will definitely recommend this tour to others.
