If you are even looking this up, likely you are a tourist. This banquet is the epitome of a tourist function. But who cares... embrace it. Like the others say, food is good but not great; however, it is the entertainment you should go for....More

We were traveling south of Galway for the day and made a quick stop at the castle. exploring around was lovely. Went through the castle and then walked around the grounds. We did not attend the banquet hosted here, we just toured the castle.

Was excited to see Dunguaire Castle but was most disappointed it was closed. You park in a parking lot and make a short trek down a typical narrow Irish roadway to the Castle. No signs notifying you the Castle is closed in the parking lot,...More

The Castle is small and the setting is beautiful. The banquet hall was also small and intimate. The food was okay not great, but the entertainment was delightful. Song and music, poetry and storytelling. It was quite enjoyable after a busy day of touring a...More

Fun for all! Great entertainment food was good and you are in a castle!! Beautiful harp playing, skits and singing. We were expecting a cheesy tourist attraction and were pleasantly surprised- Its definitely for tourists but we really enjoyed it!!!

A medieval banquet in a medieval-style castle while serenaded by harp music? What's not to like? :)Beautiful castle with swans outside sometimes. The entertainment was fun. You were given historic background on Ireland's bards and characters. Great. Polite and fun staff. Also unlike some other...More

What a fun time. People are dressed up in medieval clothing and they are playing traditional Irish harps and other instruments. They had several people dress up as kings and act the part. It was amazing to me how much the kings got into their...More

Hello everyone, I've read the reviews but they are all over a year old. I'll be traveling with my 23 year old twins on a family trip and intend to spend 4 nights in Galway September 20 - 24th, thinking the Oyster festival would be a fun time to visit. What's the vote on whether the medieval banquet is a good call for us? Any and all advice on where you'e been (and would go again or not) is welcome. Thank you
