We went here for lunch and it was packed. There were people from a bridge club celebrating so we barely got a table. My cousin had the goats cheese salad and l had the smoked salmon. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. The only complaint l would have was that it was very noisy but then as l said there was some celebration on. I would like to go on a quiet day as l would imagine it would be far nicer. The prices are very reasonable . Lovely staff.

Should you stay in Salt Hill District of Galway, you can literally walk to this lovely course! There are 4 holes directly on Galway Bay ( a tunnel from clubhouse and rest of holes get you there). If you get the itch, they do rent clubs as well. Pro shop and restaurants on site ( yes, they have Guiness! ). Played only 9 holes due to time constraints but was a joy to get out in October and take in some tranquility!! Hit 'em straight!

I organise a Group of 12 golfers playing in different parts of Ireland and being from Dundalk travelling time has been a factor in not visiting Galway.
Not any more - With the motorway it is now less than 3 hours door to door
This course is as good a parkland course as you will find in Ireland with great views over Galway Bay and Salthill beach
We played in early April following a very cold spring but despite this the course was in tremendous condition.
The greens had been sanded a few weeks before and because of the lack of heat and hence growth were still a little slow but this was totally to be expected
The fairways were in fantastic condition and clearly there has been a lot of good drainage and sanding work done in the last couple of years
The bar/restaurant area is run by friendly staff and the food we had after the round was great and good value
We will be back

The proprietor of our B&B in Salthill suggested the Galway Golf Club restaurant, down the street, as a relaxing, cost effective, alternative to downtown Galway. You don't need to be a member of the golf club to eat here (and you don't need to play golf here either), but there's free parking, and the view of Galway Bay from the upstairs restaurant is spectacular (the circular restaurant and bar occupy most of the 2nd floor .. 1st story? ... with floor to ceiling windows).
Food was good, if not inspiring, and the service was pleasant but a bit uncertain. That evening there were several large parties, and they were getting ready for a corporate event, so not the place if your looking for a romantic dinner for two, but it was definitely not at all touristy, and more the place locals would go for a reliable meal.

I have eaten in this restaurant before and although the food is basic its was never anything to get exited about. I had occasion to invite a friend for lunch mostly for easy parking and convenience. I ordered chicken Maryland, it was evident that who ever was responsible for preparing the dish had not any idea of how to cook it Reheated chicken in the oven smothered with some sort of mushroom sauce, it must have been to hand. The only indication of what I had ordered was a round of pineapple on the top which came straight from a tin. My guest had the fish pie, normally talkative re food did not comment but struggled through. We were joined by a male friend who is a very reserved man, he ordered duck, it came plonked on a plate alone without even a slice of orange, or a sprig of a herb not to mention orange sauce. The French fries were not well cooked. Now, in there defence, I have to say if I had swam across the bay of played a round in a blizzard I may have been more forgiving !! Please if for whatever reason you are not in a position to serve meals, then don't and please supply at least good quality coffee.

This golf course has it all! Has a great view of the Aran islands and beautifully kept greens. We arrived around 7pm to buy some things from the pro shop but it had closed. We asked the bartender up stairs if we could get in and she didn't have access but went out of her way to find the pro to let us in. She was so friendly and willing to help us! She was able to track him down and he reopened the shop for us to buy some souvenirs. Great location and wonderful staff. The pro also recommended a great place for dinner down the road to watch the sunset!

We ate here on recommendation from a friend on a very wet Friday night recently , I had a steak dish while the family had fish and chicken dishes . The staff here are lovely very efficient , the food and service can only be described as excellent .If your visiting Galway try here you won't be disappointed we've will definitely be back .

We had dinner here last month because it was next to our B&B. I had a really delicious seafood bake and my husband had fish and prawns on pasta. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and had gigantic portions. We could have shared easily. Beautiful presentation too. Highly recommend.

While in Galway dropped into the Galway Golf club, where one of my friends is a member, for an evening meal, early.
The dinning room is situated upstairs overlooking Galway bay, early evening the scenery is fabulous from our table. It was matched by the food, I had the tiger king prawns done in garlic butter, while others had the tempura prawns as their mains and we also had the seafood pie, every one of the five were extremely pleased with our choices and the wine complemented the Meal very well, they also had a very good alcohol free beer. Service here is excellent and friendly. As with most Golf Clubs the food is great value.
