We did a cycling tour through the south of Ireland with West Ireland Cycling. This was a very special experience, where we understood Ireland with its rugged beauty much better, but also the reasons for the exodus of the Irish over centuries became understandable. The tour was outstandingly planned and we were particularly well looked after by David who took time at the beginning to talk us through the whole tour, the highlights, the options for snack or lunch and pointed out particularly beautiful scenery. When we needed help - the key from the bike lock was very bent that we were afraid it might break off - it was replaced promptly and David was always available. This tour was simply a great experience and we can wholeheartedly recommend West Island Cycling.

I am not sure my words can do justice to the amazing time we had on our bike tour with West Ireland Cycling. My wife and I asked them to customize our itinerary to hit the places we wanted to go and they did it to perfection. We rented their basic level bikes, and they were perfectly tuned and shifted flawlessly even when climbing steep hills. I almost brought my helmet because I wasn't thrilled with the idea of using a sweaty old rental. However it didn't fit in my bag, so I was pleasantly shocked when they pulled new helmets out of boxes for us to use. Midway through our 7 day trip the winds really picked up. We were looking at the next days route and we needed to ride to 60 K to a ferry that left at 1:00 and were concerned if we would make it given headwinds we faced. Then our phone rang and it was West Ireland Cycling offering us a ride to the ferry if desired so we could enjoy our time cycling on the Aran Islands. We accepted this offer and the island turned out to be the highlight of the trip for me. But given that fuel was nearly €2.00 per liter this was very generous of them and speaks volumes about how dedicated they are to ensuring safe and enjoyable trips to their customers. Our accommodations ranged from good to great. All of our B&B hosts were friendly and offered suggestions of local sights and dining options and every breakfast was hearty and delicious! They were all very clean as well.

Once again we were on tour with West Ireland Cycling. This time on the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. We startet from Killarney to Sneem, Glenbeigh, Dingle, Killorglin and back to Killarney. The custom tour designed by John from West Ireland Cycling was just magnificient. Wonderful scenery, lovely villages, breathtaking views, stunning beaches, it was all in. The weather was the best we have ever experienced in Ireland, nine days of sunshine and temperatures around 20° to 22° celcius. The accomodations were excellent, so all together a really perfect! trip. Thanks to John and his team. We can´t wait to get back! Armin and Markus

We went on a seven day custom bike tour through Connemara and the Burren including the Aran Island (Inishmore). Planing, organisation, bikes, accomodation and service was just magnificient. We can´t think of any other team doing a better job than West Ireland Cycling. A special "Thanks" to John, who did his utmost to provide us with a unique experience including an intense communication beforehand, since we had to postpone our tour for two consecutive years due to the pandemic. We can highly recommend West Ireland Cycling. John even showed up personaly prior to our departure back to Germany, to find out if everything was to our satisfaction. Exeptional service !!!!

My wife and I recently completed a tour of the Connemara arranged by West Ireland Cycling. It was an unbelievably great experience. The cycling equipment was in perfect condition, the routing largely kept us on lightly traveled rural roads where we saw few cars, the destinations were awesome, the B&Bs and small hotels excellent. Plus the company did a flawless yet invisible job of supporting us by moving our luggage from place to place, and proved extremely punctual when it was time to meet us at the end of the trip. Highly recommended.

I have just returned from a cycling trip around Connemara. I had a wonderful experience on a very well organised trip. John organised all the accommodation, bicycle, helmet, luggage transfer. I even received a step by step guide for each day with directions which meant that I did not need to use Google maps. During the trip I always felt that I could contact John if I had any problems. The scenery is spectacular along the way, with the Aran Islands being a highlight for me. I would recommend getting at least one night on the Aran Islands. Another highlight for me, was the afternoon I spent in Kylemore Abbey. If you are a beginner cyclist, I recommend hiring an e-bike which makes the journey a little easier. I really recommend West Ireland Cycling if you want to do on a long distance cycling trip.

Thanks to Matthew and the Team at West Ireland Cycling, they recently serviced my road bike and re built my rear wheel the same day. I have been using West Ireland Cycling for the last 8 years and have always found them to be top class, very good value and a pleasure to deal with. Keep doing what you are doing!! Thanks again Matthew.

Fantastic biking adventure… John and his staff at West Ireland Cycling were amazing; everyone was very friendly and helpful. Bikes were in brand new condition, and the B&B accommodations were very nice. I would highly recommend West Ireland Cycling to anyone looking to experience Ireland on a bicycle.

09/07/'21 Rang Matthew on Tuesday to replace rear tyre on my eBike. Explained it was electric and centre driven, not rear wheel drive. He said to bring it in on Friday as he was busy. Rang on Friday morning to confirm it was OK to bring it in and again reminded him it was electric. Told to bring it in .Brought it in and as soon as he saw it informed me he couldn't do it as it had electric motor on the rear wheel. I informed him it didn't have a rear wheel motor as it was centre driven. No I still cannot do it , anyway I'm too busy. That is after dragging me 30Km through heavy Friday traffic. Either he wouldn't do it because it was not purchased from WIC, he didn't have the expertise to do it or he couldn't be bothered as the price of a tube wasn't worth it. I,m glad I bought my electric bike elsewhere and that I wasn,t a tourist on a cycling holiday. So much for all the other rave reviews on which I was basing my trust.

A friend and I rented bikes from West Ireland Cycling for 6 days in August, 2023. It was our first time riding in Ireland - no small feat! So it was a real comfort to be on bike that felt just right. The bikes were in excellent condition, everything worked smoothly and they were a pleasure to ride. Helmets were provided, we rented panniers, and, upon request, the shop provided us with lights (both front and back), and bells. We'd like to have had a bike map for the area, and learned later that there are recommended routes for biking in the area that we traveled. Still, the bikes definitely served their purpose well.
