We really enjoyed the short walk from the Claddagh to the Salmon Weir Bridge (beside the Cathedral).

it was very cold, in January. But a nice walk all the way to the light house. We walked along parts of the beach, and took loads of pictures. A great place to come, after your lunch, or walk the dog.

We walked along this path on a cold crisp winters day and it makes you look for a map to see where all the various channels and canals come from and go to. If you stop and look you can see plenty fish and bird life right in the city centre. Very easy with little in the way of slopes... More

I would go running everyday from the Docks out to Salthill and back and take this little riverside walk around. It was fun to see all the people out hanging out and also to watch the amazing tide go in and out! Fun place to crack open a beer and watch the sunset too! Pura Vida!

Wander along the river from the Cathedral to the sea. Various channels cut in and out. Small bridges. Trout and salmon abound in the fresh clear water. All this makes for a restful enjoyable walk away from the frenzy of Shop Street!

Lovely place and atmosphere; even in the winter. Lovely to go for a walk in the afternoon and watch the sunset too. The view is amazing.

The river into Galway bay is really busy with little waterfalls, sluices run off and splits in two at one point. The noise of the water is great, leading you all over the path looking for yet more water to explore. Sad river spotter!

Walking over the busy Salmon Weir Bridge toward Newtownsmith, you can see the entrance to this charming riverside walk. Gorgeous views of water wild life and yet the city is just round the corner. I took this walk on a Saturday and at the end of the walk I took a left at Bridge Street and walked up up to... More

Lovely walk along the riverside & old houses. Walk is small but really good. Ending with a cathedral makes it a perfect walk for sunny day.
