Cookes Thatch Bar is one of Galway's oldest pubs. We are located in the West end of Galway City a 5 minute walk from the centre of the City. Cookes has been welcoming customers through its doors for hundreds of years.

Not a good pub by any stretch , slow uninterested service , wouldn't go back there . And some locals there were telling us that the owner owes a local man over 10 grand for the thatching of the roof ?

Met a fellow walking with a board outside the pub. He was trying to highlight that while the pub was open the owner was refusing to pay for worked carried out on the thatch roof of the bar. An amount reaching into the 10's of...More

Poor service, nice thatch. Shame they scammed an honest thatcher for it! Would have been a nicer place to visit if it hadn't been for the the fact the guy laughs about it to his customers
