I first saw this lake from the Ashford Castle and it is beautiful. It's the second largest lake in Ireland with over 365 islands and beautiful vistas of the Connemara Mountains. Said Patrick was banished to one of the islands on Lough Corrib. I enjoyed seeing the lake via the Isle of Innisfree boat with the Luskin brothers for only... More

A lovely spot that is very popular with anglers. There are plenty of nice walks around. A nice elevated view of the lake and its islands can be reached by driving out from Oughterard via signposts for the Western Way. We had a great base in Oughterard for several days to explore the Connemara area and took a day out... More

This is one beautiful body of water. Lots of things to do here. Fishing, boating, cruise, island tours, or do nothing but sit along its shore and admire its beauty. On our next visit to this area, we'll stay longer, at least a week to enjoy Lough Corrib and its environs.

This is a beautiful lough and can be seen from many vantage points. The better the weather the better the views

A very, very enjoyable experience! Excellent, amusing commentary from David and a remarkable stop to visit the old monastery. Cong stopped just short of being tacky (the Quiet Man was shot there)

Well this will be a long review as so much to tell. We boarded the "Isle of Innisfree" on a very gloomy day. It was not so gloomy once we set sail. There was a bar if you wanted a drink and a lovely young man of 92 entertained us with his accordion and his singing of songs we had... More

We have just had the most brilliant day out on David's cruiser. He makes sure that all his passengers are well catered for and is very knowledgeable about the area and especially the history of the island we stopped at. Thank you for making our last day in this area so enjoyable...loved the boat trip in the brilliant sunshine ,,,what... More

Turn right onto Camp Street in Oughterard, by the Boat Inn, and keep driving until you hit a beauty spot car park and there is a access only sign. The walk for a mile and you are suddenly in a sublime bog marked with Wild Atlantic Way path signs, and not much else, then you'll find yourself on a wooden... More

Stayed at Ashford Castle for 2 nights and we arrived by cruise. It was a wonderful way to arrive. There are 365 islands on the lake and most are uninhabited. Rugged and beautiful.

Went for a drive around all of lough corrib... The scenery was breathtaking... I heard connemara and lough corrib was beautiful but did not expect this! It is so rural, rugged and stunning.... It is a must see to see Ireland's beauty! We found a lovely park right beside the lake with benches and stunning views and small wooden fishing... More
