About
Since 450 AD, our town has been Dublin’s go-to spot for visitors and traders. Originally a fishing village located where the Purty Kitchen now sits, Dún Laoghaire as we now know it largely dates from the 1820s. Since then it’s been home to the world’s first suburban railway, the first purpose-built yacht club in the world, and the world’s largest asylum harbour. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located south of Dublin, which is easily assessable by the DART, (train), is this beautiful coastal town. first visit should be the info centre to load up with brouchers and a map.
There is so much see and do here a day doesnt feel like enough, there are numerous walks, (the metals walk to name one),plenty of shopping to be had along the high street, (george st upper and lower), if Op shops are your thing there is at least six along this stretch.
The harbour is an attraction all by itself, the east pier walk is a must, if you have time the west pier is a much more quieter walk, compared to its opposite.
The peoples park is a highlight, especially on a sunday, when the market is on, a bit pricey for us, however, that doesnt seem to deter the crowds.

Some architectural sites to see along the way:
The marine Hotel and gardens
The Old Town Hall
The National Maritime Museum
and the
James Joyce Tower and Museum, (free entry).
to name a few.
