A whirlwind 1 hour tour where we actually got to meet Phil Lynotts Family and the Family of Rory Gallager
Apr 2020
I took the tour in 2017, I was also delighted to take it again in 2019 to see it had gotten so much better. Grainne in particular was a lovely receptionist and skilled tour guide and the owner Paddy was a real character. A lot of women working in the area also which was nice to see and Apollo studio was particularly special. It's brilliant for language school activities and for family visits and verifiably actually cool. The value of the stories were almost hard to believe! Pre COVID tour and their giftshop is online!

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We do have quite a few women working in the museum and many more in the overall music complex. We're glad you enjoyed your visit and got the opportunity to meet Paddy. He's always got plenty of extra stories to tell about the place and the artists that have passed through our halls. Our gift shop is shipping worldwide so tell your friends. Kind Regards The Management Irish Rock N Roll Museum Experience

Cracking tour
Oct 2019
Had the best time on our visit to Dublin in October '19
Alan was our guide and knew so much about many bands and solo artists he really made the tour for both me and my husband.
it didn't feel like a generic spiel learnt. You could clearly tell he was passionate about the genre. He was that good, after we tried to get tickets to a gig there that night but it had sadly sold out.
Would visit again as we had so much fun but think this was down to Alan if I'm honest.

Hi greedybugger Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. It's nice to know visitors are thinking of us during quarantine. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and will be sure to pass on your compliments to Alan. When a visitor wants to go to a gig in the Button Factory after doing the tour when tickets are no longer online sometimes we can make it happen but sometimes we get such popular artists playing that the gig sells out early. We hope you enjoyed your time in Dublin that evening anyway. If you took any photos of your visit we'd love for you to share them with us online. Kind Regards The Management Irish Rock N Roll Museum Experience

Highlight of our Trip to Dublin
Jan 2020
My daughter and I stumbled upon this and walked in to what turned out to be a semi-private tour and the highlight of our trip to Dublin! Tour guide Bryan was awesome. So much history and a lot of fun hanging out in one of the studios used by U2 and playing the drums! Felt like a rockstar lol. Bonus tour of Temple Lane Studios where many famous acts have recorded including Thin Lizzy, Rihanna. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Outstanding Guide
Mar 2020
We all probably know of U2 and Thin Lizzy. Beyond that it may seem hit or miss as to what we know about Irish Rock and Roll influence. Our guide, Alan, was outstanding. He informed us of many other influences directly or indirectly. Great tour. Great stories. Really well informed. Casual. Fun stories. Well worth it.

An excellent tour
We had spent our day exploring the south side of the Dublin city centre, and I had heard from a friend before travelling about there being a rock and roll museum. It was something I had really wanted to check out as I love Irish culture and music, and visiting the museum indeed proved to be one of the highlights of our trip. We got there just in time for the last tour of the day. Our guide, Alan - one of the best in Ireland! - was lovely and made us all feel very welcome and comfortable, and allowed us to hang back to admire things and to ask as many questions as we liked. Not only is it a museum but it's also an active rehearsal and recording space that so happens to have had the likes of U2, Hozier, and the Cranberries, rehearse and or record there, so you're literally standing in the footsteps of so many influential Irish musicians. With the place having been well known within the Irish music industry for decades, it makes the tour itself incredibly authentic. I'd say more about what was in the tour, but I don't want to spoil it. An incredibly solid and informative tour and a brilliant finish to our day. Thank you, Alan!

A Must-Do in Dublin
Mar 2020 • Friends
Went on a class trip only for initial tour to be below expectations, thank god we then stumbled across this gem. Were immediately greeted by friendly staff and then given a truly exceptional tour by tour guide Brian. I would highly recommend this to anyone even slightly interested in music, rock and especially Thin Lizzy. 5 stars.

Thin Lizzy fan? MUST SEE
Mar 2020 • Solo
Led by rock music expert Glenn Hughes as museum guide, this was one of the finest museum tours I have been on in Dublin. Really Glen's enthusiasm, deep, sincere love and expertise on Irish rock was amazing. We were treated to a tour of Temple Lane Rehearsal studios, used by U2, Thin Lizzy, Sinead O'Connor and the legendary Rory Gallagher... And more. The true treat was the great amount of memorabilia from Phil Lynott, the immortal bassist/singer/ songwriter of Thin Lizzy. A must-see. Also the tour was offered a chance to jam on the guitars, drums and use the amps in the rehearsal room used by U2. By chance, several people on the tour were musicians and our instant blues jam in the studio was called one of the best impromptu museum tourist performances ever heard by the guide. What a sound. Highlight of my trip to Dublin!! Glen hung around for over 30 minutes after our tour to chat and answer questions. So good, we forgot to do Glen. :(
