This morning walking tour is a quieter version of the Literary Pub Crawl, offered by the same outfit. A small group of people showed up for the tour, which made it intimate and easy to hear the guide. The guide was literate (of course) and engaging. Very enjoyable.

This was an extremely enjoyable and entertaining experience. We met at The Duke, at 10.30 am and, after a bit of an introduction Colm Quilligan led us through several spots in the city centre which were related to different Irish writers. He gave us a lot of information about the city and many of the writers who lived and wrote... More

Started in a pub, made a walk, visited important places, and did a quiz for fun. Learned a lot about the writers and about the history of Ireland.

Great information about the famous literary artists, the political and cultural history of Ireland, economic touchstones, key landmarks, some differences between Irish and English culture and world view, and some juicy, fun facts! FYI: they are cash only.

This was one of the highlights of my stay in Dublin even without the alcohol. Guide Colm Quilligan was an excellent "raconteur" and seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of Irish history and literary tradition. I would highly recommend this walking tour. Also the pub we started in "The Duke" which we returned to twice for its excellent pub fare... More

The lit walk is one of our top recommendations for Dublin. Especially people who are interested in the literature and history of Ireland will be captivated by the guide's stories. He really does a tremendous job of bringing you as closely as possible to the history and literature of this beautiful place. Paying attention pays off!

I was worried that the Literary Pub Crawl was going to be kind of cheesy, but in fact it was fabulously well done. We had Colm, who began the whole thing 26 years ago, and Kevin as our theatrical guides and it was fantastic. Between scenes from Beckett's Waiting for Godot, Auden's verse, and Irish songs, we had historical insights... More

Do The Lit Walk in Dublin! You start off at The Duke (where you can enjoy a cup of tea, pint of Guinness, or maybe an Irish Coffee). Then after a enthralling introduction, you start your journey. You will learn about famous (and infamous) Irish novelist and poets. With some history and culture along the way. It's also a great... More

my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour Monday morning walking tour with Colm Quilligan, our very personable and knowledgeable guide. It was delightful to learn of Dublin's history through the lens of its literary giants. We saw many of Dublin's important historical landmarks that were new to use. Colm incorporates his knowledge of Irish history as well as... More
