About
Irish whiskey is fast becoming one of the most popular spirits across the World. The Irish Whiskey Museum, based in the heart of Dublin City in a historic building on Grafton Street, tells the complete and unbiased history of Irish whiskey and its importance in Ireland’s turbulent past. The Irish Whiskey Museum is independent of all whiskey distilleries, offering its visitors the opportunity to taste and experience a huge selection of Irish Whiskey. Whether it’s Single Grain, Malt, Pot Still or a Blended Whiskey, the Museum’s whiskey experts will always be able to help you find the perfect whiskey to suit your palate. Tours take place from 10am-6pm every day, while visitors can experience a variety of live traditional music, storytelling and events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening until 10.30pm.

- Travel 36080 contributionsFun tour!We took a chance and dropped in without prebooking (late September) and we got tickets for the ‘classic’ (3 samples). Some folks were on same tour with ‘premium’ tickets (a fourth sample and an oversized souvenir shot glass). There is an elevator but it’s out of doors before you go in… we went up 1 flight to get to lobby, another flight to start the tour, and another to get to tasting room! Great enthusiastic tour guide… it’s all a bit theatrical but way more fun and interactive than the usual distillery/brewery tours.Great to hear you enjoyed your experience. - David ABentonville, Arkansas182 contributionsFun with Matt! Our guide Matt was a blast ! Keep it fun for visitors ! He gave a number of facts that likely need to be verified but it was interesting as we moved through the various themed rooms as we moved towards the tasting room ! It’s was enjoyable on a very rainy afternoon and the samples were goodIt's so nice to hear you enjoyed your experience and learned lots about Irish whiskey. - thjjk4269 contributionsUgh, disappointingMeh, I think we drew the short straw with Dan as our guide. He was extremely distracted, texting while he was presenting…the WHOLE time. It was a very full group. He also left in the middle of the tour and we just sat there and chatted until he returned. It was bizarre. He was supposed to be relating to the video that was playing but since he wasn’t in the room it was really off. Once the video ended we just waited and waited and waited. The content was ok. At the end of the tour we asked the bartender some questions about Tryconell Irish whiskey and he said he had no idea… That’s why he wasn’t a tour guide… you’re a tender at a whiskey bar! Oh well, that was a lot of money to spend for the poor tour. Try the Teeling tour… So well done.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 November 2023

We had taken this tour last year and returned. A different guide but excellent as well. Very interesting. The premium tour is good value in that you get the specialized glasses and an upgraded tasting. The ambience of the facility is very nice and it is in a fine neighborhood.

I went to the Irish Whiskey Museum and booked the deluxe tour (definitely save 15€ and book online!)
Had the lovely guide Andrew take us, a small group of three, through the experience. He was great, answered all out questions and told us all about the history of Irish Whiskey.
Definitely worth a visit. The tasting at the end was a nice finish to the experience.

Definitely worth the trip. I learned a lot, and our guide, Donal, was a great entertainer and educator. He rightfully joked with everyone, and made it fun.
My response to him for making fun of Americans is this: there are two types of countries in this world. Those who use the metric system and those who have walked in the moon.

Overall, we had a great time. My husband and I chatted and laughed at the bar with our tour guide, Donal, before the tour got started and he had the whole group laughing from start to finish. He turned what could have been a cheesy tour into our favorite out of a 2 and a half week vacation. Afterward, he gave my husband and me some great suggestions on whiskeys to take home.

This experience is well worth it! We learned much more here than we did at a distillery tour we did. Our guide, Ellen, was very knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. This is definitely a must do in Dublin!

We had a brilliant and entertaining time with Dan. A wonderful tour of whiskey making, particularly Irish whiskey. Much laughter was had, even before the samples were available. The blending experience is great fun, especially if those near you don’t enjoy the ones you do (I got more than my “fair” share). I will be happily enjoying my personally blended option.
We finished off with an Irish coffee in the bar, where there was also live music.

Hands down the best tour I have ever been on. We had the honor of having Donal guide it and he made the whole tour one to remember was super interact-full with our group and had so many good one liners. He made the tour. Even bumped into him a few days later when we were walking around and he remembered us by name. Highly recommend this tour and get final if you can.

Often do tours when I am in Dublin to pass the time & Often have passed by the Whiskey Museum. Decided I would venture in to take a tour. The tour lasted around 1hr & it was very enjoyable, Brion (I think I have that misspelled slightly incorrect) was brilliant. Took time to chat with us, very informative & engaging whilst having the craic with us & did his best to try and relate to tour to myself & others who were from all around the world and importantly, was just very good at his job. Tasting tour was also informative and was nice to try a few whiskeys who's history & other facts were well explained by the aforementioned Briain. I'd definitely recommend to anyone who has an interest in Whiskey.

If I book a tour online, can I change the date and time of my tickets later if needed?

The four whiskies are Busker, Fercullen Falls, West Cork and the premium tour adds Knappogue Castle.
Hi, I went on a tour on February 24th with Callum and blended my own whiskey. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of the whiskeys we tried. There was definitely a Powers, and possibly a Hitch.
Any chance the whiskeys used are recorded?
