Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We were fortunate to purchase our tour through a living social voucher. In comparison to the other bus companies, one look at the bus alone puts it a step above. The seat are so much more comfortable rather than the bench seating that they others have. Great drivers and fabulous tour guide. Would recommend to everyone!

Should we take the Red bus, Green bus or Yellow bus? Well after numerous conversations and reviews, the Yellow bus became the obvious choice... similar stops and commentary, for 3 Euro less per rider! Enjoy!

I booked online, persuded by the route, frequency and promise of refreshments. I took my children on one of the tours 4 aug 2015. we took our place with other tourists wanting on o connell street . pasangers got off and one of the staff montioned some pasenges to get on. a new driver also got on the bus at this time and as i and my children attempted to board (we were 3rd and 4th passengers) the driver looked directly at us did not comumicate and closed the door hitting my 4yr old with the door as it closed with him standing on the bus platform, me on the footpath holding his hand to help him on board. my son was very shocked and was left with a mark to his face. the passengers on board the bus and the promotional staff on the street were all equally shocked and approached us to see if my som was ok. one of your promonional staff , as asian young man ,could not apologise enough. the bus moved forward about 20 feet and took on more passangers. The driver never commumicated to the passengers he intended to close doors or move the bus. at no stage did he awknowleged he had hit my son with the door (despite having to open it again to allow me to take him off the bus!!!) he did not even have the courtessy to apolologise or check if my child was ok.
I continued with tour so my son wouldn't develop a fear of busses as this was only his 2nd time on one.
The Tour guide was poor , we never seen once a refreshment , walked part of the route as bus took so long . We we lucky to wait for 20 mins for the last bus despite it being an hour earlier than brochure. And an acknowledgement is all that I have received for my complaint to date.

I am a rural guide and had 6 German visitors with me in Dublin. We stepped off the Luas near O'Connell Street and were targeted by a man dressed in green Uniform selling sightseeing trips on a bus. I assumed it is the green tour and went on with them. First he tried to charge us €20 each and when I said I'll go with the red one we got it for €15 each, allegedly with all explanation in German and "refreshments" on the bus. The only good thing was the bus. It was luxurious but the only refreshments we got was cold air.
The driver and the guide were arguing during the tour, the German translation didn't work and we didn't get our money back!! I'm surprised such a fraudulent company is allowed to operate in Dublin.

This may be the cheapest but waiting in the rain for 35 minutes at the Cityscape Hop on Stop is the price you will pay. We watched in envy as the alternatives, Green & Red open tops picked up their passengers whilst we were cold and wet waiting for this very poor Golden Service. Freebies in the promtion material simply never materialised.

Very poor punctuality, stops on their map not adhered to, we were left waiting for over half an hour on more than one occasion even though they professed a ten minute service. The two other bus companies seemed to always keep to their timetable and there were always plenty of buses. Coffee was advertised on the literature but was never seen at all. One couple we travelled with were so disgusted with the overall service that they demanded and received a refund.

Thank you very much for your review. I have taken note of your concerns and have this information passed onto management which will be sure to help improve our service. We have introduced more coaches so this will improve the frequency at all stops. We are a new company and we greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Kind regards, Cityscape sightseeing.

Do not use this bus tour company ! We used this company and will never use CityScape again. My wife and I were picked up at the Guiness tour mid-afternoon and was dropped off at Kilmainham Gaol, just down the road We were assured by the bus driver and guide that we would have time for a tour at Kilmainham and that the buses would run until 5:30pm.
We finished the tour and went out to the bus stop to wait for the bus at about 4:30, plenty of time before the last bus. Of course it was windy, rainy and cold (0 degrees C). After standing out in the cold and watching two of the competitor bus companies go by we figured that something must be wrong.
And sure enough it was. We walked out the main road and saw a CityScape bus drive by (without going down the road in front of Kilmainham). When the drive stopped at the red light I went up and knocked on his window. He confirmed that because of the traffic and a protest the bus company had just stopped driving, leaving all of its passengers stranded across the city on a rainy, cold December night. I asked if the bus driver could give us a ride back and he said "no" that he was told to go back to the company and that he was not being paid any longer.
Even though the competing bus companies continued to run, apparently CityScape bus only honors its commitment when it is convenient for the them.
Please do not use this company and send a message that they cannot treat visitors that they have made a commitment to with such disregard. Fortunately this was uncharacteristic of the rest of the city and everyone else went out of their way to be helpful.

Thank you very much for your review. Firstly let me apologise about the driver and also for that evening. The protest had caught us off guard and had directly affected the Cityscape route which is slightly different from our competitors. We now have a system in place via website and social media which will update if such a situation were to happen again. I also apologise for the rudeness of this driver. I can assure you this is not common practice ad will be dealt with accordingly. Your feedback will give us the tools to improve our service. Thank you. Kind regards, Cityscape sightseeing.

Read the negative reviews first! They are all similar which should scream at you to avoid this company!! The first bus of the morning was almost 35 min. late (standing in the cold wet whether I called and was lied to twice). Later that day we stood at another stop so long we bailed and grabbed Uber instead to get to next destination (strike two). Finally at end of day (Guinness stop) we waited another 30 minutes and repeatedly told a bus would be there "momentarily." It never came and last call we were told they stopped running 45 minutes earlier (so the guy continued to lie to us!!!).
All day long we saw dozens of the other competitors buses running like clockwork, and making all the stops (even ours since they all pick up/drop off at same spot). You will be very sorry if you book with this vendor and it will ruin your trip. There are two other big companies that offer hop on hop off - do not use Cityscape!!!!

Today I brought 2 friends from UK on a cityscape bus around Dublin. We waited for 50 minutes at Kilmainhan for a bus while 4 red and 2 green buses passed us. Ours eventually arrived with no apology nor explanation from the driver. We did a brief stop at Collins Barracks and got another bus which stopped in O'Connell St for over 30 minutes. This driver Joe spent more time muttering to himself than paying his attention to the route. He missed out bus stops even when people wanted to get off. He missed an entire traffic light change at Pearse St because he was waffling. We wanted to get to the Aviva for a tour at 3. Despite having got our the bus around 2 we didn't get to the Aviva till nearly 3.30.
Waste of time and money. Would not ever recommend to friends or visitors. Was embarrassed by the unprofessional driver and unacceptable delays along the journey

I see the first stop from the map is Kilmanham Jail. I am not staying near there, could anyone please recommend any stop in the city centre where I could board and easily find a good seat (not by the aisle)? Many thanks in advance

Stop 9 is a good stop to get on the Bus outside the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell street. There are Company representatives (wearing yellow) that will help you board

Did your Giant's Causeway tour include a stop for lunch at the Giant's Barn? How did you enjoy that?
Also, what route did your driver take to go North to Dunluce Castle - did you go through Belfast?
On the way home, did you go through Belfast?

Dublin is Republic of Ireland, it is on the East Coast, bus tour does not cross the border to Northern Ireland, The are 2 different countries, around 100 miles distance from the Northern Irish border to Dublin. If you Google a Map of Ireland and its borders you will be able to see the different counties and their border.

We are coming in on a cruise ship. We would like to visit Kilmainham Gaol and have an overview tour of the city.
How would we get from the port to the gaol? What is the best way to plan it? City tour on bus first then gaol? It looks like it is best to buy tickets online for Kilmainham, but I have read a few folks missed their tour time due to various transportation factors.
We would like to do both but not sure how. Our ship docks on a Friday in June at 10:45 and leaves at 11 p.m. that night. Thank you so much.

There are organised shuttle buses that drop cruise ship passengers to Merrion Square in Dublin. From Merrion square there are 3 hop on hop off operators Cityscapes yellow buses being one of those operators. All operators are good but Cityscape is the only operator that can offer you a live guide on every bus so be sure to get to speak to one of our many meet and greet staff wearing yellow at Merrion square and they will get you on a bus which will take you to Kilmainham Gaol. I hope this answers your question

Website lists 12 euros not 10 Is this a recent change? Are the stops well marked? Thanks
Written 20 April 2017
To clarify yes we have had a price increase to €15 on street price but we are still providing more for less, a live guide on every bus free WiFi and the most comprehensive tour of Dublin. There is further great value online at the moment where the one day ticket can be purchased for €12 !
Written 16 May 2017
Visiting Dublin in June. I have tickets for Kilmainham Gaol at 2:30pm. I'd like to get tickets for Cityscape for the day. If we leave the jail at 5pm, will we be able to catch the tour bus still?
Written 4 April 2017
I have no idea, we organized everything at the moment. Enjoy Ireland
Written 7 April 2017
Hi, I have 4 young people aged 16 interested in doing the bus tour this Saturday morning. Do I need to book a ticket for them online for €10? I am a bit confused, it says on the website it is free for children up to 16 but then you have to pay €10 from 17 years of age. What happen if you are between 16 and 17? Will they be asked for ID getting on the bus?
Thank you
Written 12 January 2017
No you don't need to book tickets for your children as the driver can print child tickets from the ticket machine on the bus but the site does allow you to do so at zero value. 2 children up to the age of 16 can travel for free with every paying adult.
If your child is 16yrs or over they must pay the adult fare of €10. I hope this answers your question and I hope you enjoy the tour.
