Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

To explain this horrid review, I should say that 2 years ago we took this hop-on tour and saw 3 different routes, heard live discussions with great asides at specific locations and had only one problem finding a bus at the marked spot. All has changed. We waited and waited for buses, watching the other companies efficiently pick up people. The shortest wait was 40 mins. If you question a member of the company, they claim buses every 20 mins. Not true. We missed so many chances at landmarks because they did not arrive on time. Bigger issue: we did not have live speakers. The first tour, they never told us to take earphones and plug into the speakers. In fact, the girl told me not to take the earphones because I spoke English. So, nothing heard the first half of 1st tour. Second time, the recordings were not timed to what we were looking at so we had no idea what was happening. They were about 2 stops ahead — discussing Guinness storehouses at Christ Church... Don’t take this tour! They have apparently fallen far behind the competition but charge as much.

Review of: Dublin Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour
I took the YELLOW BUS!! DON'T DO IT. They get you to go because they have the cheapest tickets. I was just there at the end of May. It took more than ONE HOUR to get picked up from a place. So, it was NOT exactly HOP ON HOP OFF. It was more like "Hop Off" and stay there forever. Even the bus driver said it is the worst company he's ever worked for when I complained. Take the Blue or Red or Green . . . ANY COLOR BUT NOT YELLOW. They are somewhat higher in price, but we watched them come and go continually while we waited over an hour for the Yellow bus.

Terrible. The bus didnt picked us where they said they will. They charged us twice. 120euros for the tour I didnt see. We were waiting with 10 more people for hour and a half and the bus didnt showed up. Big big dissapointment. The agency didnt offer us anything. They should al least send someone to pick us up. They said we would get a money refund but we didnt received anything. Right now we are concidering our lawyers because we were damaged so badly.

While in Dublin, Ireland we wanted to tour the Guinness Factory and found that the CityScape on/off tour bus stopped right around the corner from our hotel. Our driver, Izzy was welcoming and informative. Excellent value for the distance we needed to travel.

I know this is a discount hop on and hop off bus, but I was blown away by how poor their service was. The bus, brochure and website all advertised that buses run every 15 minutes. After we purchased our tickets we were told that they actually only run every 30 minutes. However, we stood at a stop waiting for over 45 minutes and no bus ever came. We eventually gave up and made other arrangement.

Today we used this service to see around Dublin simply because they stopped right outside are hotel door! We waited one hour for the bus to come and pick us up! While I was waiting I rang two different numbers for us to see what the issue was, there was no answer! Then we got dropped of in town at the wax museum and again must have waited a good 40 minutes for the next bus to come and pick us up when we got on the bus driver made an announcement that he was having a 15 minute break (which is fine) but the point is the bus doesn’t run ever 10 minutes are even every 20 minutes! We ended up getting a normal bus to where we where going to and from for the rest of ate time in Dublin! We would definitely not recommend this company to anyone!

They showed up every 40 min and took up most of our day waiting. We ended up taking a taxi.
Do not use this company. Use the red or the green bus.

The busses don't run on time. These other reviews are lying. We've waited 45 minutes with no buss. Another lady has been waiting over an hour. Still no pick up

Hi Mike2193 Thanks for your first ever tripadvisor review. I believe this to be a fake review from one of our competitors and for you to call out the other reviewers as "lying" sticks out like a sore thumb. If I have it wrong please feel free to email me on dkavanagh@cityscape.ie

Booked this tour as I thought it would be value for money. Bad mistake. Our driver looked as though he had a good night out (ie previous night). On boarding bus we soon realized that the commentary was taped. Sights didn’t correspond to commentary. However we were happy enough initially as day was fine and we could enjoy view of the city. Half way through the tour, things started to go awry. When we were at Dublin Castle our commentator pointed out that we were in Donnybrook. That’s fine if you know roughly where you are going but not so if you are new to the city. Christ Church cathedral turned into St Patrick’s and so on. Eventually our driver stirred himself to point out the errors. Obviously he wasn’t able to press the correct buttons on the ‘player’. We got off At Kilmainham did the tour and ‘walked’ back to Guinness brewery. Having waited around to ‘hop on’ again, we eventually gave up the ghost and took a taxi back to Temple Bar. Moral of story........ you get what you pay for.😩😩😩
