Hi Janice,
We are so disappointed to hear you had a bad experience on tour with us. I'd just like to point out in our reply that we had messaged you in advance asking you to notify us of the entrance time on your Newgrange ticket and I believe you informed us of your entry time incorrectly. Our tour guides are with you approx 6 hours in duration and because of this, we try to ensure we collect you one hour in advance of your Newgrange entrance. This gives adequate time to meet and greet you, and drive to Newgrange (whilst your guide gives you some history of Ireland) so that you arrive on time. After your Newgrange experience, we continue our tour of the Boyne valley which would include the Hill of Tara and other places of interest that our guides recommend. We talked with your guide who informed us that you realised your entrance time was incorrect by an hour when you arrived at Newgrange. Some of our guides do drive taxis and this is mentioned in our tour information. There are some advantages to using a taxi while driving in Dublin. They can use the bus lanes (avoiding traffic) and many passionate and qualified tour guides would drive a taxi in our off-season in Ireland. For legal reasons, anyone driving the public for a service in Ireland must hold an SPSV license and these licenses are obtained by chauffeurs and taxi drivers. Finally after speaking to your guide he was quite surprised to hear about receiving a 1-star review as he had no idea at the time you were disappointed and that he had even received a lovely tip. Our records show that he collected you at 8 am and he was instructed to collect you at 1:30 pm after you entered Newgrange at 9am. We invite you to email us directly if this is not the case and we can take further action, Janice. Again we're so sorry you felt disappointed with your day while out on tour with us. We do strive to constantly improve our service so we'll take all of this information into consideration and possibly request screenshots from our guests going forward to ensure we avoid this happening again.
Kind regards,
Bradley
