My wife and I are huge GoT fans, and we've been wanting to do this tour for the longest time. After a year delay of our honeymoon due to the pandemic, we finally took our trip to Ireland and did the tour from Dublin. Lar was such an exceptional, and fun tour guide who presented everything in such a thrilling way. We wore these cool Northern coats, and even got to take pictures with swords at some amazing location backdrops. We also had the privilege of meeting Eric and John, who came along for the tour. Lar, Eric, and John were all extras on the show and painted an even better picture of Game of Thrones and its behind the scenes look. Book the tour, it's an experience of a lifetime.

Hi Eric, Wow an experience of a lifetime! We are humbled Eric, so glad we could contribute to making your trip to Ireland and memorable one. Yes you had three Thrones extras in the coach on that day, with Lar being the 'Bolton Baddie' :) Wish you every success in your married life and if back in Ireland again we are here to serve Thrones fans - Valar Dohaeris 🙏 🐺 ⚔️

We planned our trip to Dublin long time ago, but for sure as great fans of Game of Thrones, we wanted to see the locations where all started.
We had a little delay, the bus driver got sick, so we had to wait for Paul, "the king of the bus".
Our Tourguide Lar was simply amazing, he had on every location several stories to tell. He added photos or small clips to get informed for the (I think) overall five filming locations. The coats keeps us warm and feels like being one in Stark's army, and finally the swords at the end are fantastic.
Overall after 11 hours of the tour, very nice guide and bus driver, kilometers of hiking, we are tired and very satisfied.

I booked this tour for my wife as she is a big GoT fan. Our guide Aenne and our driver Dennis provided an amazing experience I would recommend to anyone. There are two 3.5 KM walks(worth it), a pub lunch and photos with replica swords. It was a perfect day. Bring water and snacks and do be advised the first walk has a hilly section. Thank you Aenne and Dennis for giving us a great day out and great memories!

Being a fan of GOT it was always a dream for me to visit any of the location and its finally completed last year when i visited Game of Thrones Tours. Its a must visit place. The props looks very much really. Adrian was our tour guide & he looks exactly like Davos Seaworth a he was his body double.

Hi Angelica, Thanks for a great review for Adrian, aka the 'Other Ser Davos'. As you say, the resemblance is uncanny! He was indeed a photo double for Ser Davos from season 5 to season 8. He also appeared on screen as a Stark guard. We look forward to seeing you again in the future when the Game of Thrones Studio Tour opens to the public.

I paid 55 euros to go on this trip and I am a big fan of the game of thrones franchise. I was very excited to go on the trip so I woke up with my group of friends who are staying with me in Dublin and got ready and began walking to the pickup location at about 8:25, as our hotel was fairly close to the tour pickup. We arrived outside the Inn at 8:45 and watched the bus leave right in front of our eyes. The website said that the bus would not depart until 9AM. I am very disappointed in the integrity of the tour program.

I have never written a bad review in my life before, but I had to make an exception with this tour, as it was such a bad experience.
The tour started off badly when our Spanish guide spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why there was too many people on the bus and then had a stand off with a girl who had a receipt proving she had booked and paid for the tour, but was not on the list in the guide’s phone (she had not bothered checking bookings before we got on the bus so this was done in front of everyone). This was so unprofessional and the girl left the bus humiliated and crying, and there was now a terrible atmosphere.
Our tour guide then talked the whole three-hour drive to Castle Ward (Winterfell), but not about Game of Thrones, about Irish history and how the Irish like to have the craic, not to mention why sheep are painted with red marks! As an Irish person it was unbearable for me to hear my history being butchered, and I was actually offended by her explanation of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. It is completely unsuitable to go on like this for three hours on a tour for Game of Thrones fans - either the fans are Irish or are tourists who will get this information elsewhere if that’s what they are looking for! I got the impression the guide has never even watched Game of Thrones.
When we finally got to Castle Ward (Winterfell) I thought things would improve but the tour guide just rushed people through a tour of the grounds, which consisted of holding up photos from the Game of Thrones sets. There was no insight into what went into the filming, how they interacted with locals, or behind the scenes stories.
At this point my friend and I couldn’t stand it any longer, so we abandoned the tour, got a lift to Belfast and took public transport back to Dublin.
This tour is just an excuse to cash in on Game of Thrones and no effort has been made to make it an enjoyable experience for fans. You would be better off packing a picnic and driving to the beautiful locations yourself, and dealing with the Castle Ward staff directly if you want to rent costumes and practise archery.

Extremely disappointed with this so called Game of Thrones Tour. To begin with our guide was completely disorganised. Instead of checking everyone's bookings, she let everyone pile onto the bus first. This led to a a delay because they had overbooked and a young girl was forced to leave in tears despite having proof of her booking. Our guide assured us that the girl would come for free the next day which was a load of rubbish considering the girl had already paid.

After this bad start our guide launched into what can only be described as the worst tour of my life. There was no talk of Game of Thrones, instead we were subjected to an embarrassingly poor brief on Irish history. When our guide wasn't spewing nonsense about St Patrick or The Troubles, she pointed to random things out the window such as sheep with red paint. My heart lifted when she said she would start talking about GoT and then sank quickly when all she had to say was that two guys read the books and decided to make it into a TV show. Because we were delayed leaving and further delayed due to getting stuck behind a vintage car rally it meant we would be arriving back in Dublin two hours later than the original scheduled time. This couldn't be helped but I couldn't have endured another four hours of this disappointment of a tour so I left early and made my own way home.

The organisers should make it clear what exactly this tour is because to me it was just a badly organised tour of Ireland cashing in on the Game of Thrones connections. It is not suitable for fans of the books and series, nor is it suitable for tourists.

The website says that there is a sharp departure at 9:00 am and nothing else. We arrive at 8:44 and see the bus leave right in front of our eyes. We go into the hotel lobby and try to call the tour's two office numbers to no avail. Why would your website advertise a 9:00 sharp departure but leave at 8:45? It makes no sense, especially since there were at least 7 people missing from your bus. I only realized that the departure was actually 8:45 by looking at a real physical brochure my hostel happen to have handy after arriving back disappointed with 6 other people. I booked this trip while visiting London and had no way of knowing when the tour was supposed to really leave. The cancellation policy is made to make sure we won't be getting our money back and there is no way to reschedule as my group Is actually leaving sharp at 9:00 am tomorrow morning. The least you could do is give me and 6 other people who paid full price for your trip a refund. The most you can do is make sure this does not happen to anyone ever again. I'm not one to care about my lost 50 euro but I am extremely disappointed as I looked forward to going on this tour immensely.

We decided to book the game of thrones tour from Dublin the night before and having seen all the episodes but not being 'super fans', we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Some of the locations they take you to are off the beaten track but this makes it all the better as there is simply no other tourists around. Make sure you wear good walking shoes and warm clothes as it gets bloody cold around Winterfell. The lunch was good, and it was great a couple of direwolfs from the show turned up to meet us. Highly recommended whether your a 'super fan' or just keen to get out and see some amazing scenery and castles in the north.

Right from the moment we stepped out of the bus we started to experience this horrible guide.
-First of he made the tour a marathon with non stop "running" in really fast walking speed and repeating for 5 min for the end to catch up and all over again for the whole tour . Even though we were at the start of the pack and from the ppl in good shape still this was really uncomfortable . Even after some ppl asked him to slow his step a bit ( cause he is tall and other shorter people need to make 3 steps to match his one step ) he refused and ignored them by saying if we wanna make it this is how we should go - I don't except this . If there isn't enough time to not run then why won't the tour be extended to match normal ppl in the future ??!
- second his lack of charisma and his do not funny jokes were so annoying and even boring , how can someone make GOT boring ??! I don't know but he did !!
-we didn't get any time to really take pictures except last stop... It was either listen to his explanation of the scene or take pics your self , you didn't get time to go both . I expected him to talk and then say now 5 min for pics - instead he talked and then started running again .
- the main attraction " winterfell" was a joke as they didn't even get us in . All we got is Jonny talking in the yard !! The yard !!! Apparently 50 euros per person on this tour first cover entrance fees for the MAIN attraction !!
- bus had no Wi-Fi and stuff were broken like side handles and front trays .
- bus had 2 conditions - hot with no air / freezing air conditioning you couldn't regulate . There wasn't any middle ground so either you sweat or froze and evidently got sick .

Most exciting thing was the pups and the stories from the dogs owner as he was an extra as well like Jonny but this one had interesting stories and a charming personality . The funny thing is that they are not even an official part of the tour and just a friendly other tour called "wibterfell tours" - so I can't even give credit to this tout for bringing them .

In the end I was really disappointed not by the places them self's but by the money worth of this tour and hoe basically they arsenal people's money for a ride there and back . I would never recommend this tour to anyone and not even my enemies. I never wrote such a negative review but this needed to be said and most of my group and I felt horrible after and I hope ppl will read my review and be saved .

Best alternative I can suggest is rent a car and go yourself or find another tour .
