There is a walking tour in Dublin which does a fantastic job in helping to explain some of the history and convey in an almost tangible way a part of the passion that fueled the 1916 uprising. Pamphlets are readily available at the tourist information places. On the tour we took, it began raining fairly hard mid-way through and when... More

The 1916 Rising Tour was a major highlight of our visit to Dublin. Lorcan Collins’ passion about the meaning of that great event, his authoritative knowledge about the people and facts involved, and his friendly, serious--as well as humorous--delivery, made our Dublin experience greater by far than it could have been without him.

The guide had a way of making us understand aspects of Irish history that I personally had difficulty grasping before. The ease with... More

The Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916 was pivotal in the creation of the Irish State and plays a huge part in the psyche of the ordinary Irish people. This tour relates the events leading up to that momentous week in Easter 1916 which changed Ireland forever! The tour combines historical information from informed and passionate guides (Conor, Lorcan and... More
