Our guide, Eoin, an engaging, friendly young man, prepared us for what we were about to experience with solid, well structured background information in the upstairs room at the International Bar. It was interesting to note that those of us gathered to learn more about the Easter Rising of 1916 consisted of 7 Australians and 5 from the US. Following... More

American travelers from Florida and Rory was our guide. We had a 50-70% understanding of the political history but Rory did an outstanding job of giving us the 800-year background in 20-30 minutes before the walking part began. Rory had a passion and incredible communication skill that kept the entire group interested and engaged! I firmly recommend this tour to... More

This was a great tour that was led by Lorcan Collins and who's knowledge and enthusiasm for this subject was evident the whole time. The group was very interactive and was encouraged to ask questions. The history of Ireland is so complex and the fight for independence is multifaceted. You will get an honest assessment of the 1916 Rebellion and... More

This walking tour was led by a young man who had a passion to communicate the history surrounding the 1916 Rebellion. His depth of knowledge was incredible. We highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity!

This tour was wonderful. That being said, I have a working knowledge of the rebellion and this tour really brought it to life, so to speak. I could see some of the folks on tour missing points because they came in blind. But they still enjoyed it because our guide, Owen, was amazing. Knowledgeable, had all the answers, some great... Good overview of the history leading up to the 1916 uprising - and to the major players and places of the week following Easter Monday. The guide obviously knows and understands the historic details in depth and was able to answer all questions (brought up by many in our very diverse group) in detail. You walk to some of the... Excellent value for money. We went on tour with Rory today. He was very informative. It was really enjoyable. Nice relaxed pace. Loads of information without being too heavy.

Rory's knowledge of the history and devastation of the 1916 Uprising is staggering. This tour made us feel as if we were watching the events unfold before our eyes. About 30 minutes of walking with several breaks in between.

If you like history, you will like this tour. They begin with a brief overview of the complicated Anglo-Irish history in order to put the events of 1916 into context. So don’t worry if your Irish history is a little sketchy, you can still enjoy it. Then you walk around key locations in the 1916 uprising, including the General Post... More

This was a great way to gain an insight into the events of the 1916 rebellion. A seminal event in Irish history - losing the battle but the start of winning the war for Irish independence. Easy walking, but packed full of historical insights
