Welcome to the Canal Boat Restaurant! Enjoy a delicious 3 course meal freshly prepared on board, from the finest locally sourced produce. Our eco-friendly, replica Guinness Canal Barge glides silently and smoothly along a beautiful stretch of Dublin's Grand Canal. We depart from Mespil Road (across from the Mespil Hotel) and cruise along a stunning tree lined stretch of the canal, past Georgian houses and under Georgian bridges. Watch as the lock keepers open and close the locks by hand, exactly how they were operated when the locks were first commissioned in 1798. Savour your pre-dinner drinks from our on board bar whilst watching the world go by.

As a group of ten, we did the cruise last Friday to celebrate a family birthday & highly recommend it. It was grt fun. The food was delicious and the staff are second to none. Fantastic customer service, well done to all and thank you for a very memorable experience.

A very relaxing meal and cruise that far exceeded our expectations mainly thanks to the wonderful crew that really know what good customer service is. Nicole Casandra and Beatriz made a wonderful experience exceptional with their genuine attentitive friendly approach. The Chefs and crew are to be commended on such a great night with a menu that provided freshly cooked food to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean boat all round and such great value for money we will be back. Don’t be put off by any negative reviews and you won’t miss out on fantastic experience.

We really enjoyed this experience and thought it was good value for money since you get a lovely 3 course meal and of course the boat experience. Drinks aren’t included but they aren’t expensive and there’s a nice choice of cocktails (though we did suspect the Guinness came from a can so maybe skip that as there are plenty of other places you can get a good Guinness!). The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. It would be nice if there was a little spiel at the beginning when you’re up on deck, about what you’re going past with a bit of Irish humour thrown in, so it’s more of a tour, but that was the only thing we thought was missing. Still rating 5 stars as these are suggestions/advisories not negatives!

It was great celebrating my friend’s hen party on board of this lovely boat with a lovely crew 😊 We got to play our own playlist and food was tasty. Had a great time and the bride to be as well. Would definitely recommend the experience!

We rented the boat for our Christmas party last Thursday! We had the best evening. I couldn't recommend it more. The food, the drinks and all the AMAZING crew members deserve a 10/10.

Beautiful boat, amazing staff and delicious food.
From me getting in contact to us being on the boat, there was great communication, perfect professionalism and everything went just as we’d have hoped.
This was a group of 15 people on a hen with all different ages and we all had so much fun. I made a playlist and played via Bluetooth which was perfect/
The staff are friendly, accommodating and a really good laugh. We felt really comfortable and looked after.

We visited the Canal Boat in early June and our experience was amazing from start to finish. We had a group of 40 people for a 3 course dinner, drinks and 3 hour tour along the canal. Jaya and Michael were great to deal with when organizing our booking over email/phone in advance of our booking.
Jaya, the floor staff, the chefs and the guys on deck were excellent and accommodated all our guests from the moment we got onboard.
We booked the tour as an evening event for our company. Everyone was really impressed with the food, the experience and customer service throughout the night!
Definitely worth a visit, the team will look after you really well and ensure you have a great experience!

Recently had my sisters hen party on the canal boat, from beginning to end Mícheál and all the staff on board were exceptional to deal with. The canapés were delicious and plenty of them. We all really enjoy the afternoon, and had great fun.

I think you would feel comfortable as a single in this restaurant. When we were there it was a very social crowd and the setup on the tables makes for great conversations with everyone around you. The food was excellent as well.
