We had a family gathering in the Laurels last night, there were 11 of us, we were warmly welcomed. Staff great, Emma looked after us very well. Tom made sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious as of course were Ciaran's pints. New décor beautiful. Would highly recommend a visit. Les & Anne

Absolutely beautiful experience. We went for my mams 50th to have a sit down meal. We were greeted by Tom who was very pleasant throughout our whole time there. Tom also brought out a little cake and had the staff wish her a happy birthday
Gorgeous food also! Would recommend

Initially our experience was fantastic. Conor is a top class bartender and an amazing ambassador for what I used to think was a nice pub. He greeted us with a friendly smile and was so helpful and attentive, also Kerry that served our food was so cheerful and could not do enough for us, the food was lovely (over priced for pub grub but you don’t mind paying for good food) That unfortunately is where the good points stop! The on duty manager tonight (29/05/2023) was ignorant, rude, arrogant and basically should have never been but into bar management, i have had bad experiences in pubs before but nothing to mirror how badly we were treated by “the manager” he barked at us at 10:30 in the smoking area that they were closing, then went to the lounge and closed off any empty areas by placing chairs upon tables and speaking to people who appeared to be regular customers in a tone that would make you sick! He clearly is in the wrong trade! If he doesn’t want to stay open “pub” hours then he should not be in the trade! I will be taking this issue up with the actual owners of the Laurels as we spent over €200 in just 4 hours in their pub! I am in a professional position that involves me getting asked on a regular basis for places to have family receptions, unfortunately after tonight’s experience I will be actively telling my clients to boycott the Laurels. Disgraceful management and unfortunately so, because the actual REAL staff were lovely. Shame on you “The Laurels”!!!

The Laurels in Dublin Ireland PERRYSTOWN, is a TOP SHELF restaurant & pub! The ambiance and service are OUTSTANDING! The Hughes family has built a decades long family friendly Irish styled restaurant and pub where you feel like its home. The bartenders and service staff are incredibly attentive, and the menu and food are tasty, creative and delightful! When in Dublin, The Laurels should be at the TOP of your list for an authentic Irish experience! Over the years, I have sent hundreds of friends from the United States to visit The Laurels in PERRYSTOWN Dublin, and each of them would tell you that it was a HIGHLIGHT of their trip to the Emerald Isle!

I booked the Laurels for lunch with friends. It was our first time to eat here. I ordered turkey and ham, which was priced at €15 50. My meal came out in a bowl. I got a sliver of turkey and one slice of ham. The rest was mainly mashed potatoes and gravy. I spoke to the waitress who asked if I'd ordered a half portion. I had not. When I asked if I could have more food she said she would 'see what she could do'. I heard no more. After 10 minutes I spoke to the waitress again saying that there was little point in bringing more food at that point as we were all finished eating . When the bill came my meal was billed at €15 50. When I protested I was told that the manager would have to be consulted. He arrived and asked why I had not brought it to anyone's attention earlier! 7€ was then deducted from the bill. I paid €8 50 for what was effectively an infant's meal not to mention the unpleasantness in leaving the table twice to address the waitress and later making my case et again to the manager!
We will not return.

Revisited The Laurels Perrystown with family after previously had a disappointing visit there a while back and was willingly to give it another chance. Unfortunately this was a big mistake. Last time the service was very poor but this time it was downright rude, unfriendly and dismissive towards me and my family. There was no compassion or empathy by staff or management responding to my sick mother in law who is recovering from chemotherapy and was in distress and pain during our visit and needed to sit down urgently. After explaining the situation to the Laurels staff they insisted impatiently that my mother in law must get up from the table she only sat at to recover from pain. There was no reserve sign either at this table as if this should make a difference in these circumstances. Laurels staff acted very mechanically and dispassionate towards their customers. Some serious reflection and proper training needed at this establishment for all, especially management in their approach to customers needs. Their mindless pursuit of turnover and profits with little kindness towards elderly and frail people will ensure more bad reviews which are mounting up on TripAdvisor!!
