Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I booked this tour last minute with absolutely no expectations of what I was in for. I would usually classify myself as ‘hard to please’ but this tour was hands down one of the best weeks I’ve ever had. Absolutely beautiful scenery, well organised, hilarious bus driver (Joe) and very reasonably priced. However, what made this tour stand out to me compared to other tours I’ve done in the past is our tour guide BOBBY. Bobby went above and beyond, was always so kind and thoughtful of everyone on the trip, was so knowledgeable and funny, and was always making sure that everyone was having a time. I’ll always remember my time here in Ireland and that is props to you Bobby. Thank you!! 😊😊😊

Re: 5 day Giants Rocker tour
TO ANTO, OUR DEAD SET LEGEND OF A GUIDE
I’VE WRITTEN YE A WEE POEM

You picked us up in Dublin, all young and starry eyed
Heading off we already knew, we’d lucked out on our guide
Setting the scene for Ireland’s story, you had all the facts
Through the streets of Belfast and beyond, you always had our backs
Past the dark hedges and on to Ballintoy, the picturesque one horse town
Your storytelling of myths and legends meant nobody wore a frown
Giants causeway and then to Derry your knowledge was just grand
Even when some of us got ill, you were there to lend a hand
Giving us tips on the best pubs in town, always wearing a smile
Playing bus games while answering our questions in true Anto style
To the magical city of Galway, so much to do and see
Aran Islands blew our minds, and you fought off an angry bee
Sadly then we had to part ways, a last night to laugh and chat
Gotta know you’re a real special one Anto, we all loved you just like that
Your stories and knowledge with your smile and laughs, there’s no lass with great craic
You made our trip to Ireland one to not forget and I know we’ll all be back 💕

ANYONE STILL ON THE FENCE YOU NEEDN’T HAVE ANY DOUBTS YE WILL HAVE A GRAND OLD TIME I COULDN’T FAULT IT 🍀

The tour is great for anybody who can only spend a few days in ireland but still wants to explore some parts of it.
The tour was really well organised and the destinations were great.
At night, we went to pubs to listen to some live music and stayed hostels overnight
The tourguide really made an effort, so everybody had a good time.
I would definitly do the tour again! :)😁😊

This trip was the worst trip i have ever been on. Don't go if your from england the staff belittle English people. And tell story's to the other travellers about how evil English people are. If your English and you go on this tour you will be made to feel very unwelcome

The tour itself showed beautiful country and city sights of Ireland but there were a few things which made me rate the tour as average instead of excellent.

Firstly, if you're not a party goer/drinker, this tour may not be the best option for you! There was a big emphasis on drinking and going out so it made me feel like there was nothing to do if you didn't want to join in on the drinking activities.

Our guide, Rachel, was awesome though! She gave us great history of
Ireland's Troubles and Famine, making sure we were okay during the bus rides and answering any questions we had. She is a great asset to Shamrocker tours :)

However, I thought there was way too much free time given, which although may sound like a great thing, it was like we were just palmed off to do our own thing. This put me off a little, as the main reason I joined the tour, was to learn and be guided at times around the places I was in.

The hostels were okay, they definitely got better, especially the Killarney hostel, that was perfect! Though if you're a couple, please get a private room!

One thing in which added a sour note to the tour, is the way in which it was advertised. Originally, it was said to be a tour of up to 16 people, the main reason why I booked!

Half way through the tour, we were accompanied by another tour, making our small group of 13, to 45! It was a small surprise, as it was never mentioned that this would be happening.

Lastly, the time on the bus compared to some of the sights, was too long.
An example being Blarney Castle on the 5 day Celtic Rocker tour. Personally, I thought that place needed more than 2 hours as there was so much to see! Some places we only stayed for an hour and a bit also.

Though I know we could not spend all day at places, it would have been nice to have more little stops across long drives.

I loved seeing the sights and the country side, it was definitely breathtaking and I would come back again!!! But I don't believe I needed a tour to see the places in which we saw...

If you're into the party/drinking scene, like long drives and like having a lot of free time, this tour is for you!!

If you'd like a more personalised tour which a smaller group and less partying, perhaps looking somewhere else is a better option!

I recently finished the 5 day Giant's tour hosted by Shamrocker and I cannot say enough good things about this trip. I got a full understanding of Ireland's history in just 5 days thanks to our awesome guide, Conal. Before each stop Conal gave us a comprehensive review of why each city/site is important to Irish history including a few tidbits I'm sure that other guides do not cover. In addition, he was full of recommendations for restaurants and nightlife and even toured us around cities at night after his "shift" technically ended. I would highly recommend taking a Shamrocker tour, and I hope you're lucky enough to get Conal as your guide!

Well. That was certainly an interesting time to go on holiday. Just before the start of the tour, we were alerted to the fact that many of the cultural attractions were being shut down by the government mandate, and so while we were all a bit disappointed, we were still excited to see what the tour would offer. And weren’t we impressed! Kevin is an absolute rock star. Despite being hit with bad news left right and centre of things being closed down to the public and having to deal with a near constant barrage of information about what we could and could not do as a tour group, Kevin kept it going. He didn’t buckle under any of the pressure and came up with alternative routes to take or things to see that would be just as grand as the original tour.

We u fortunately didn’t get to finish the tour, as by the time we got back to Dublin for our St Patrick’s Day celebrations, it was cancelled. While heartbroken and a bit lost about what to do now, Kevin stuck around to help us figure out what to do if we needed to rearrange flights or accommodation, and even after our own St Patrick’s Day celebration (a few days early), he still gave us a walking tour of Dublin he’d promised. Kevin, you are an absolute champion.

Highly, highly recommend Shamrocker, and I cannot wait to come back to Ireland to finish of the tour completely.

To our favourite Irish Bobby
Climbing trees should be your hobby
Getting the perfect photo for the gram
To taking us to hold a baby lamb
Anything we asked of you
You always made it come true
And then Darren came to be
Oh what fun we had us three
You let us get some ‘sun’ in Derry
And then you took us on the roller coaster ferry
The most glorious beer pong team
We really were living the dream
Being front seat bandits from the get go
How we loved sitting with you and Joe
You were both such treats
Always playing some questionable beats
Castles and cliffs, there were a few
You don’t even know how much we’ll miss you
Love Steph and Nic/Veronica and Jessica

Wow! If you are wanting to see all of Ireland this tour is the best fit for it! We did it all! We travelled to Northern Ireland, went along the cost done to Galway, and then to Kilkenny and then back to Dublin with so many more stops along the way! We saw the Giants Causeway, Cliffs of Moher, the Titanic museum, biked to the Cliffs of Ennismore, kissed the Blarney stone and so much more!. Our Tour guide was amazing. Kevin made the trip so memorable and fun and engaging. He truly showed us the heart and soul of Ireland which made all the difference for this trip. Our bus drivers were also amazing! Joe and Alan took care of us and even joined us on some adventures too! I could not have asked for a better tour guide or drivers they were all amazing.

I do have to say that I am very thankful for reading reviews prior to taking the trip because while our time in Belfast was limited we could only do one activity and the one recommend for Belfast was the Black Cab Tours. My friend and I decided not to do that tour because of the not so great reviews on it so instead we went to the Titanic Museum and I'm so glad we did! But if this is the only critique I can have I'd say that it's a win!

I booked the Giants Rocker tour to Northern Ireland and Galway quite spontaneously and now I'm sure that there's no better way to explore Ireland for the first time. Especially when you travel alone.

I enjoyed every minute of it. My personal highlights were the Giants Causeway, Derry, the Pub Crawl in Galway (even though I didn't win the potato game) and the nature of Inishmore. Have a look at my pictures.

We traveled in a small group (15 people) and stayed in hostels, which wasn't bad at all (we even got upgraded to a proper hotel for one night). The group was very lovely and almost felt like family after a few days.

Our guides (Gemma and later on Bobby) did everything and more to make sure we had a great time. They told us a lot about the history of (Northern) Ireland, the celtic language and answered every question with passion and patience. Still they somehow managed it to feel more like a friend than a teacher because they showed great interest in every single person in the group.
I already did 4 guided tours in different countries but never felt so comfortable as I did with Gem and Bobby.

As you can see (or read to be correct) I had a great time and would recommend it to everyone. Thanks to Shamerocker for offering such a grand tour for such a low price. 🇮🇪🍀
