Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took time out to spend the last evening of our short stay in Dublin to enjoy some comedy.
We were not disappointed.
The basement venue was ideal.
Tip: get there early otherwise you’ll be standing at the back
3 stand up acts and a very energetic compare.
All acts were great.
Compare was hilarious. Totally interacting with the audience.
They give out free ice creams at the break. Nice touch!
They operate an honesty fee and ask audience to put money in bucket on way out. Nice touch!

Amazing night! Had a concert me and my fiancé were going to cancel so we were trying to find something to do in the evening, so happy we found this gem! All comedians were hilarious, the atmosphere was brilliant and the drinks were delicious. Big shout out to the host Aiden Greene who had us in stitches every time he came to the stage!!! I could see why some people would be put off by the size of the venue but personally it brought a more intimate feel and was a bonus! 100% going to go again.

Had a hilarious time! Would absolutely recommend if you're in Dublin on a Sunday or Monday. Also made new friends with the people sitting next to us. It's always super packed, so be sure to arrive at 8.15pm.

I’ve been here several times in the past few years and it never disappoints! The comics are always great, it’s FREE (donation based at the end) and there’s free ice cream/popsicles given halfway through. Really, what more can you ask for? Thanks Comedy Crunch for being a consistent staple on my trips to Dublin. Everyone needs to see this show!

Danny O’Brien is HILARIOUS! Just saw the show tonight. I’m from Boston and have seen many many comedy shows in Boston and NYC, everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to Paula Poundstone and everyone in between. Danny O’Brien had me laughing more tonight than I have in a very long time. He can ad lib with the best of them. The other comedians were both very funny, too. Highly recommend!

We were in Dublin and were really looking forward to this comedy show that we read so much about in Trip Advisor. We got there early and got good seats. As it began to fill up, it got VERY warm. They got the a/c running, which helped, but moving away from the stage was a huge help.
As soon as the intro started, we could tell the comedy was going to be very vulgar. Sorry, we are going to be "old-fashioned" and sound like old fuddy-duddies but we just don't appreciate vulgar humor. Sorry. It started out vulgar and in no time went waaay more graphic, describing various sexual acts, getting high, etc etc. The young crowd was loving it, but we weren't. So....we waited, hoping the next act was going to be better, but it wasn't. They went down the same track, so between acts, we decided to slip out.
I post this just as a fair warning to anyone who might feel the same about crude humor...this may not be the place for you. To comics who insist you have to go there to be funny, I respectfully disagree. Watch some Brian Regan, one of the funniest comics of all time. He doesn't, and he takes pride in it. He sells out everywhere he goes. Food for thought.
We even missed the free ice cream. Oh well.

Beautiful venue for an evening of good quality comedy. The Stags Head was a favourite amongst our group because it was aesthetically pleasing and the drinks weren't quite as expensive as many other bars in the area!!!
The basement where the comedy crunch was held was a little warm- but the free ice cream went down very well at the interval. We managed to secure a table that was close enough to see but (we had hoped) not too close to be the butt of too many jokes!!!
The show consists of five acts. They definitely got better as the show went along and the Headline act was incredible. We laughed all the way throughout the 3 ish hour show and would highly recommend it as a very good night in Dublin for very little money. Just because it is free did not mean that the acts were anything less than awesome!!!

On a recent midweek visit to Dublin, we decide to try the Comedy Crunch at The Stag's Head. Easy to find and what a little gem! Close to Temple Bar for drinks afterwards.
The venue is small and intimate - I suggest you get there early and a drink in the pub at about 7.30pm so that you're there when the doors open. Get a seat along the wall rather than in the middle and stock up on a couple of drinks as you won't be able to get to the bar until the interval. 4 acts plus the MC who did his last show before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe on the night we were there.
Great comedy - better than a lot I've paid good money for! The added bonus of a free ice cream at the interval is a great idea.
One word of warning though - we went to the Stag's Head early to get something to eat before the show started. They stop serving food at 6pm. We resorted to a chip shop over the road...
All in all, a great night made better by the fact that is was free! There's nothing better than free stuff!

My girlfriend and I (24&21 years old) went here on our first evening in Dublin. It was just brilliant! Three great comedians and a fantastic host from the pub. And its free. And YES there really is free ice cream! Even if you're not used to Irish accent you can understand everything. Go for it!
