We visited the house while on a trip to India day which was held in the grounds around the house. We took the opportunity to take the 45 minute trip around the house. I really enjoyed the very educational tour which was carried out by the guide whose name I believe is Don. He really knows his stuff and imparted... More

Beautiful house and grounds, very easy to spend time there with plenty of room for picnics. If you check out the website there are various events take place mainly during the summer months. Tours of the house are well worth doing and are free. The Boathouse Restaurant looks out over the lake and food is good value for money.

Just back from a lovely afternoon at Farmleigh, what an absolute gem of a place. All thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the gardens, (walled, sunken, ornamental), there are some very impressive sculptures & little hidden spots all over, some great climbing trees & spots for kids to run & play & hide! All grounds are beautifully maintained & look stunning. We... More

The Guinness family owned this house and handed it over to the state to restore, now it is free entry and has lovely gardens, walled and others to enjoy, there is a farmers market every month and OPW dot ie have information on calendar of events, there is usually something happening at the weekends in summer months. I loved it here, and I can't believe I haven't been here before seeing as all facilities are free! Even free parking. Loved the walks and the little cafe by the lake, and the brass band playing was really lovely. Also had a very interesting tour of the ground floor of the house, with an excellent tour guide who made... More

We came across Farmleigh by accident and spent a delightful hour or so walking here. Enjoyed the walled garden and had a relaxing coffee break in a lovely little cafe by the lake.

Lovely gardens and the hues is something special! This is a lovely way to spend a day in the Phoenix park if the Zoo is not your thing.

Tour is free & very enjoyable. Tours accommodate about 16 people & run at a quarter past each hour. Guide was very knowledgeable & friendly. Gardens also beautiful & there was musical entertainment in the garden & a puppet show for children - visited on a Sunday. Would recommend gardens & entertainment for children, not sure the house would appeal... More

Did a tour here last week with Eamonn. He was a pleasure to listen to. Well informed and interesting. The residence is fantastic. Kids loved knowing that the queen and Obama both stayed there. It's well worth a visit and its FREE
