Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is an incredible wealth of knitted goods at Cleo. From one of a kind hand knits, to brands such as Fisherman Out of Ireland and Eribe..their offerings will keep you there for a while. They even had Flock stuffed small creatures (owls, whales, sheep). The quality of what is sold is a cut above anything else you will find. The staff is always so helpful and friendly (and patient.). I never go to Dublin without a stop here.

14 years ago I took a special trip to Ireland and one of the highlights of my trip was finding an expertly handknit Aran cardigan at Cleo in Dublin. When my vacation to Ireland this year had to be postponed, I decided to buy another handknit sweater from them online. Through a couple of emails, I decided on the sweater I wanted to order. They were very responsive and easy to work with. The sweater included a tag with the name of the woman who made it and is beautiful inside and out - truly heirloom quality! It's made of hearty Irish wool and will last for a good long time.

Thank you Rebecca. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with you and how lovely to have heard from you after your visit 14 years ago. Enjoy wearing the sweater for many years to come.

We visited Cleo ltd in Dublin in October of 2017, and have never forgotten the beautiful, unusual purchases we made then. And we continue to write to them to purchase sweaters, socks and hats. The staff treats us like old friends, so it is lovely to continue to buy items that are well made and beautiful from this shop in Dublin. Do look on their website: cleo-ltd.com

Lovely smart shop with Irish made products. Extremely welcoming owner and nice to see a shop open as it was Sunday and no other shops open. It was a bit out of my price range but didn't stop other tourists buying I noticed.

After reading some great reviews I first visited Cleo about 3 years ago in search of an Irish sweater. I am SO happy that I found this shop the day before I was due to go back home. They have the most beautiful and truly one of a kind sweaters (among other great items). The brands they carry are extremely well made. They also have their Cleo originals that are hand knit from local knitters around Ireland. I love this store so much that it was my first stop back when I returned the following year, and now that I have found their website I am in BIG trouble! :) Going to this shop is a must if you are in Dublin, you can see all the wonderful patterns and styles of different knitters from all over. I also have had a wonderful experience e-mailing back and forth with Sarah on a sweater she is having custom knit for me, Cleo is truly a very special shop.

This is THE best shop in Dublin!! We discovered it 3 years ago when we were there. Bought several items. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the products from all over Ireland gorgeous and very high quality, and the prices very reasonable.
This month, since we couldn't go in person, I went up to their web site and bought a large throw for our bed in winter, and a cardigan sweater for my wife for Xmas. They arrived safely and are wonderful! So even if you can't shop in person now by going to Dublin, this store is well worth checking out.

Fantastic shop, like a treasure, hidden in plain sight near Stephen's Green. Cozy and full of so many beautiful items, with a variety of price points. The welcoming staff was extremely helpful in making choices and in shipping my purchases to the States. I look forward to shopping here again, in store and online.

I'm a knitter myself and was disappointed that the "handmade" sweaters in most Dublin shops are knitted on a machine. Then I happened to walk by Cleo and stopped in. Cleo actually has hand knitted items with beautiful designs, some very traditional and others not like anything I'd seen elsewhere. Worth the money. I later went to the Constant Knitter shop and mentioned I'd bought a handknit sweater. The woman there confirmed that Cleo is quality, Irish designed and made. And then she sold me some yarn :)

Thank you so much for this review. We here at Cleo do take pride in supporting local knitter and using Irish yarn. It is lovely to hear that you cherish our hand-knitted items. Hope you have great memories from your visit to Ireland and your sweater will keep you warm for years to come. Thank you from all here at Cleo!

We found Cleo several years ago when I was looking for a woolen "toy." Besides toys, they carry wool bowls and some jewelry but specialize in scarves, socks, wrist warmers, sweaters, blankets, dresses, vests...so much stuff that it's piled on tables as well as hanging up along the walls and stacked on shelves. I love that it's a family-owned business on a quiet street (instead of the impersonal shops of Grafton Street or along the busy south side of Trinity College) while still being in City Centre - a 5 minute walk from Trinity College and a few doors away from St. Stephen's Green. They also ship to the USA and have a "Sale" section in the basement.

I loved this tiny little shop filled with some of the most beautiful hand woven items I have ever seen. I spent more than I'd planned for but still vow to return someday for one of their most delicate shawls in the prettiest of colors. Can be a bit pricey but worth it as you will not find these items anywhere else.
