I visited this status with family to introduce younger relatives to a great writer. Sad to see people sitting on a statue as if it was unimportant. Seemed a bit of an ill use of a monument to such a powerful thought provoking writer. Regardless...More

I have to admit, I didn't know who James Joyce was when my guide took us down North Earl Street, I now know he wrote Ulysses, wrote 'interesting...' letters to his female friends and has a statue with a cool pose in Dublin, it was...More

One of three statues all within a 5 minute walk on O'Connell ST. Right next to the GOP, this is a must for statue and literary fans.

I can't believe this charming statue is ranked so low on TripAdvisor list of things to do in Dublin. I was scrolling down a fair few pages before I found it! It is a quirky piece of work of Joyce standing quirkily on the paved...More

I visited this statue dedicated to James Joyce today. It is a fine bronze sculpture and a good monument to someone who made such a contribution to Irish literature

It sits opposite the Dublin Spire so you can't miss it on the crossroads. The base is used as a seat by street thieves (saw someone pocket watching there, no Garda ever about so not surprised). If you're into it go see it, you can...More

I just happened past it and stopped for a quick photo and to read the plaque at the base. If you're a Joyce fan...you'll want to find it and stop by!

If so, go there to see the statue. Go further and see the James Joyce Center. The statue is located just next to The Spire monument which is unique by its structure and it is also quite interesting to be seen.

The statue is an absolutely beautiful work of art. The size is impressive. It is predominately located so you can easily see and admire it.
