Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a very good way to learn about Irish history, specifically the 1916 rising and as a bonus see the city and find your bearings. A great accompaniment to this would be the 1916 Museum in the GPO.
I brought 10 and a 12 year old boys and they really enjoyed it. It is very interactive and you hop off the bus at Stephen's Green, where we had the added bonus of seeing squirrels ;) and Dublin Castle.
If you like history and like theatre, you will love this tour. I live in Ireland and was delighted to see so many Irish people taking the tour. There is a lot to be learnt from this tour and it makes you realise What these people who fought for us went through. You are never too young to learn about your history and when you make it fun, which this does, all the better.

This tour was surprisingly good! It begins with Amy portraying a young woman involved in the rising as it is happening. She is joined by Matt, who portrays a volunteer in the conflict. Their stories are based upon actual accounts of people who were involved in the events of 1916. With stops including the GPO, Moore Street and Richmond Barracks they made us feel the pride and determination of those who fought for Irish freedom.

My daughter and I took this tour, earlier today. At first, I wasn't sure what would transpire. There is a recording setting the mood for the tour. Suddenly, a young lady appeared as a woman actively involved in the rebellion, and began retelling her "experiences" during the uprising. She was followed by a young man who, in turn, recounted his story. This technique gave the tour an immediacy not found in others. The actors were intelligent and really did a fabulous job.

The coach tour of the 1916 rising was absolutely excellent. I really enjoyed it for the Historical. The guide was very knowledgeable and I have to say he had some funny stories. It was great to visit the land marks . Totally enjoyable.

Eddie ran three tours back to back for our Sixth Class students. We couldn't praise him highly enough. He has endless patience! The children were entertained and educated and the teachers all loved it! Highly recommended.

This tour was fabulous. Our guide Eddie was fantastic and a true expert on the subject. The tour is not at all political and portrays the stories of the men and women behind the rising. It was by far the most informative 1916 tour that we experienced and the least gimmicky. Thanks for a great day.

Who runs this tour?
Is it an official OPW inititiave?
How much does it cost?
How long does it take?
What is the availability for tomorrow, 16th June
Written 15 June 2016
Hi Anita. We have no connection with the OPW. We are the original 1916 tour operational since 2011. The tour lasts about 90minutes and is the only tour to visit all the battle field sites of the Rising. Tickets can be reserved through our contact form on our website and our booking office will be in touch.
