Good bar/club. Too many straight girls. We aren’t your entertainment.
Feb 2020 • Friends
Honestly you can have a great gay night here BUT the “culture” of the bar has changed dramatically. There’s a huge amount of straight (usually girls) going now. Gay spaces are very rare but while everyone should be welcome, in bars like this they really need to try curtail it a little as it shifts the whole atmosphere. We are not straight girls entertainment. Straight girls reading this please also check your “straight girl privilege” pushing your way up to the bar/skipping the queue might fly in straight bars where men are too scared to confront you over it but please remember venues like the George are gay safe spaces and you’re a guest in it. Check what’s on before you go as some nights are heavier dance and others are pop. The pop nights in my opinion are much better. Drag queens are great fun and bar staff are generally friendly and efficient.

standards slipping
Feb 2020 • Solo
Loved coming here during the daytime for a few pints but lately when I have visited the place has been full of overly drunk individuals who have been harassing people around them. The only days this doesn’t seem to happen is when Brett works But sadly I haven’t seen him for a while so unsure if he moved on.
I don’t visit the club and only really during the day so sadly will not be in as frequently anymore

The best night out!
Jan 2020 • Friends
We had the best night out in Dublin at The George! The set up of the bar is really good and there was a show the whole evening! There was a bingo, but next to that four great drag queens were working their asses off the whole evening!
A special note to the floor manager (?)! She was just as fabulous as the drag queens, or even more. ;-)

Obnoxious Security and door staff
Jan 2020 • Friends
My friends and I had been coming here for about 10 years. However, I have noticed in the last year some of the security people have become incredibly obnoxious. They are constantly harassing people in the pub for no reason and shoving their weight around. Never have I seen this behaviour in any bar from security. This place used to be a friendly and inclusive place for gay people. It now seems to be lots of straight people. My friend was told to leave for no reason. Wouldn't go back again. The older blonde lady at the door is so horrible and rude as well as some of the new guys inside. We have stopped coming here. Such a shame.

Young people's LGBT bar in Dublin
Dec 2019
We didn't stay past one pint because I felt too old. It's very much a young LGBT crowd, which is great that they have a place to feel relaxed and meet new friends. We went on to Street 66, which has a more mature audience. I think it's sad that there are straight drunks trying to gatecrash aggressively which has meant tough security on the doors. But LGBT people need safe spaces. I hope this venue continues.

Best 50th party ever
Oct 2019 • Friends
Myself and 30 friends (mixed gay, straight and ages from 25 to 55) from all over the world met up in Dublin to celebrate my 50th birthday, and had the main party at The George. I had emailed the bar to tell them we were coming and when we arrived we met the manager who made sure we all got in together without queueing . What a great venue, music was perfect, and fantastic atmosphere. Excellent bar manager down stairs and good security. The night was everything I had hoped it could be, and the George was a huge part of that.

The un-inclusive pub
Nov 2019 • Friends
I am giving 1 star cause there is no option in for 0. Apparently they kick me out for being Spanish. Irish people with me stayed in the club. Thank you the George, the inclusive pub. I bought have been brining all my gay friends for 5 years I'm living in Dublin, unfortunately that was the last time. See you in Spain 🇪🇸

Strange but funny
Nov 2019 • Couples
This bar nightclub is very nice and well located. There are 2 floors with 2 bars, a cloakroom and an open space for smoking.

A show was played by LGBT, so if you're not tolerant, don't go there. Sometimes the showmen were a bit crude.

- We had to wait a long time before having our drinks.

Prices are interesting (cheaper than a normal pub).

Toilets are clean.

Attention, there is not dark room so this is not a place for sex.
