30 minutes for a Guinness and not even busy asked 3 different staff and all I was told was “I’ll check” absolutely disgraceful

Awful Service
Aug 2021 • Friends
Terrible service and nothing friendly about the staff (especially John). There are lots of other great pubs in the area that I would put ahead of this one.

Good Irish pub!
We had a far better experience here than in some of the Temple Bar venues. Far better service, good atmosphere & a nice comfortable terrace to watch the world go by.

Snack in town
Jan 2021 • Couples
Slattery’s is probably the best pub in town. Great food, music and of course drink. I should have had a sandwich. Years ago I had a fabulous sandwich made with the famous Dublin Doorstep bread here, I hope they are still available . Just remembered it writing this, I will report again if it’s still on the menu. I hope so.

Okay

I got a real "we're only serving food so the government lets us stay open" vibe from the place - which, if that's the case, I by no means blame them.

So, onto the food. The starter (garlic bread with cheese) was genuinely lovely, and the portion was generous.

But can't say the same about the main (fish and chips) - both the fish and the sauces were so watery, and the batter was just sliding off it. It was obvious the fish had just been defrosted. Overall not a terrible experience, but the food wasn't all that great. Lovely decor. The salads with both dishes were fantastic.

One of the greatest pubs in Dublin

Lovely and warm irish pub. Nice stuff and delicious fish & chips, burguers to enjoy with a paint of Guinness. One of the best garlic breads we 've ever eaten. Lynott and Rory pictures on its walls. Couldn't ask for more.

Nice place & good food
Mar 2020
Stopped in here late one evening for dinner in early March, just when the virus was starting so things were quiet. What a neat place! We had a great dinner with the lamb stew & dark bread (soda?) which was the best I've ever had. Wish we could have come back for breakfast or to experience the place as a pub. Seemed to be a good mix of locals & others. Interesting decor & good service, too. A place I would visit again!

Great bar with friendly staff. Thank you to Dan for tolerating us! Lovely clean pub. Just what you expect after eating nearby on our friends 40th. Drank here 20 years ago cannot wait to come back on our next night out

What u expect
Feb 2020 • Friends
Slatrerys is on capelv street and opens quite early becuase of this the clientele can be quite mixed but it’s to be expected. The service is always friendly and the food is great. Particularly the breakfast.
Prices area little on the pricey side and toilets are a little smelly otherwise it would be 5 stars

Traditional pub
Dec 2019
Worth to pay a visit as a tourist or just for a pint when passing by. Traditional Irish pub with good choice of beer and the meal.
