It's a really good museum, I loved the horror and the "fairy" /mystic part in it! The wax statues were awesome!

Having been to Madame Tussauds, this was a big step down. We were in and out in 25 mins and that included the obligatory gift shop. Small, limited interest. History stuff available better elsewhere. Don't bother.

Located right off the O'Connell Bridge, the museum is probably one of, if not the best, centrally located tourist attraction in the city. I was pleasantly surprised with the range of sculptures, as I thought it would be just novelty ones through. However, you start off with science then go onto figures in Irish pop culture. It's then onto the more novelty characters like the simpsons, Harry Potter, Batman etc. Next, it's onto History, which is followed by a creepy sort of horror section. Be sure to press the buttons on the walls in the history section as it gives good audio commentary on the sculptures you see. Nicely finished off with Mrs Brown's boys and a splash of water!

The lady who was working at the counter was really nice. It was entertaining and educational at the same time bacause there were different themes: science, writers, music, horror, etc... Definitely worth visiting.

We used our Dublin Pass to pass some time here and we were in and out in less than an hour. Probably OK if you've got under 12s but really not worth it for older people.
There are some interesting facts here and there but the wax works aren't very realistic I'm afraid.

It was rainy and we wanted one more activity to round out our day in Dublin - my kids really wanted to try this and I'm glad we did! There was a writers room, a musicians and actors room, a kids room with things to climb on and play in. It was a touristy thing to do, but also so very Irish in its content that I appreciated the cultural experience. As someone from America, I did enjoy the familiar and yet unique feel of the place. I had my two younger sons with me so we skipped the horror room but the rest of it was great fun.

Hi Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you and your kids enjoyed your visit and that you liked the feel of our museum. We are very happy that the variety of themes was something that stood out to you and that your kids still had a great day, even when the weather was bad. Our horror section can definitely give quite the scare, but if you took any photos of your visit in general, we'd love for you to share them with us online. We loved this wee museum whilst visiting Dublin with the children. The horror section really caught me off guard and I did let out a scream at one point! Was lovely to see all the different exhibits with a lot of them being interactive too! Look out for Mrs Brown!
