My wife has wanted to come visit this Church and we finally made it. Very interesting to see where Handels Messiah was composed and practiced. The tour guide of the crypts regaled us with stories of the mummies and the history of this ancient viking...More

Small out of the way church with a small crypt showing history of area and “mummies”. The guide was very entertaining and made the effort to visit worth it.

Yes, you can see the mummies ... it's unique for sure! The tombs are tricky to get into (steep, tight stairs) but if you want to see bones, bodies, and unwrapped mummies in person, this is your place.

The crypts were very interesting! The tour is quick, but it's with just a small group and you get to walk around to see the coffins, mummies, and other inactive burial sites. The church is very old, but impressive. It's a short visit, so it's...More

Interesting tour of crypts and close up views of some well preserved bodies, so well worth the trip if that is your type of thing! You get to see two crypts, so it doesn't take too long, but there are mummies dating from 400-800 years...More

The quick tour of the vaults was interesting. Guide was entertaining too, telling stories streaked with Irish lore. If you only have time for one more quick sightseeing adventure, this is the place. Gotta love Irish history!

Absolutely essential to tour this 1000 year old Anglican Church. You get to go to the dungeon which inspired Bram Stoker.

Would defo recommend going to see the mummies!! You'll learn a lot. Dont let it being a church put you off, seriously. Underneath you'll find something youll always remember!! But the worrying thing is...... the mummies will remember you too! .. ooooohhhh. Just go!!

I was particularly interested in the Crypt of the Lords of Leitrim as I live in a part of Leitrim they were strongly connected with.

While this crypt is tiny and won't take long to view, we absolutely loved the guide. He must have been an actor, because his character was flawless, down to the walk, and his dry humor would fit right in on Monty Python. It was a...More

It was 3 or 4 Euros this year. Call ahead to make sure they'll have a tour guide available when you wish to go or you won't get to see the crypt.
