Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I found this place fascinating - jam packed with history and seemingly endless rows of intriguing headstones (really each a piece of art in itself). It was a pleasant 30 minute or so walk from my hotel on the Northside of central Dublin (also easy to maneuver via bus or uber) so a perfect afternoon excursion.
I highly recommend the tour. Several different tours over time if possible on subsequent visits, actually, if you really want to dig in as the amount of historical information to be covered here is almost overwhelming. Warren (our tour guide) was brilliant - friendly, interesting and in full command of an amazing array of details and stories. He took us on a 'highlights' tour of some of the biggest names entombed there while providing all sorts of interesting life and cemetery details. It ran around 90+ minutes.
I also did the O'connell tower climb add on - there's a new up to date set of stairs inside (as the originals were destroyed) so it's a safe and relatively easy climb with some nice views from the top.
It's an expansive and very interesting property easily accessible to central Dublin. All the staff was friendly and helpful. There's also a handy cafe onsite and a pub down the street so something for everyone. Highly recommend.

I love a good cemetery, and this did not disappoint. Rows upon rows of mostly well maintained graves, each headstone more elaborate than the next. The big draw here are the graves of O'Connell. Parnell, Collins, and many others, figures so central to
the history of this amazing island. Our tour guide, Allen, was knowledgeable and reverent, with some fun thrown in. He described the history, and the men and women making it, very well, and I left with a clearer understanding of the past. The Experience Center was well planned, and very interesting. Only complaint was the cafe was not open. A short stroll to the Botanic Gardens was easy enough, tho, and the cafe there was lovely. I would highly recommend this as a must-do tour to anyone interested in the aforementioned historical figures, or the history of Ireland in general.

Every time I visit I see new flowers on his grave, as well as small gifts, flags, letters, etc. As long as the grave is respected I imagine you absolutely can do so.

Yes it is. Many lanes are paved and others are gravel. The cafe, shopping and toilets are all on one level

Hello,
The cemetery is a 40 minute walk (approx) from O'Connell Street. You can get the 40 or 140 bus from O'Connell Street also. You do not have to pay to enter the cemetery however there is an admission fee for the museum and/or the guided tours.
Thanks.
