This is one of my favourite places in Dublin. As a book lover myself, it is just amazing to see all the various historical pieces in this library - you cannot borrow the books so this is actually a museum. From a hundreds-years old Koran to a Bible from centuries ago, you'll go through a journey through history. The museum... More

well worth visiting - but factor in enough time to read about the exhibits. Nice café there too. Very convenient city centre location.

This is a great place to spend 2-3 hours, but you should like books first. You will see a small portion of Mr. Beatty's collection of eastern and religious books, and it will take your breath away. The museum is across the green behind Dublin Castle and there is an excellent cafe for lunch. The gift shop will offer you... More

This wasn't a place I planned to visit, but was so glad I did. This is an amazing collection and I was especially fascinated by the ancient texts. Not much cost to visit and well worth it!

Really interesting place to visit, giving you an insightful look into world religions and how ostentatiously beautiful some scriptures are. As well as a brief history of the life of late great Chester Beatty.

As a rare book librarian, the Chester Beatty was a must-see for me, and I'm glad to report that it did not disappoint! With a beautiful and unique collection that highlights a variety of time periods and cultures, this Library offered us a wonderful respite from chilly, bustling Dublin. The main book exhibit itself was very quiet and sedate--it wasn't... More

This is a nice museum, hidden in the Dublin Castle. It has a good collection of arts , books and interesting stuff from all over the world. There is such a lot to see and it is free of charge.

A small little museum hidden in the Dublin Castle and free admission. Holds the best secrets -- ancient preserved chapters of the bible & the Quran.

The quality of the book collection and the clarity of the exhibits was quite high. It did a great job of explaining the major religions of the world through the book collection: Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, etc... Explanations were clear but not dumbed down and people can learn a lot about other religions from a visit here, as well as... More
