I spent 5days in Dublin having a wonderful time there. The city was very interesting for me with it's busy life all day long even at nights. What makes my holiday really enjoyable and unforgettable? The people living there. They are very attentive, polite , helpful and kind.I have never had a similar impression before. So being a tourist in Dublin is a must that you cannot miss.

Market consisted of 6 or 7 stalls and was overall rather uninspiring. Decided to stop off at the pie, quiche and cheesecake stall. What a pleasant surprise. The owner had amazing banter and shared a good few craic's. Bought the white pudding and beef and Guinness pies and the chocolate and blueberry cheesecakes. Wow wow wow. Pies were stuffed with filling and covered in fluffy pastry and the cheesecakes were divine and not overly sweet. What an unexpected surprise - will definitely be back for more of these beauties.

Go to the Goode Life Foods stall and get yourself a Hog in a Box. Thank me later.

it's spit roasted pulled pork served with roasted spuds and stuffing and spicy gravy and onions and why are you still reading this and not going to get yourself one already ?

Being typical New Yorkers used to many choices, my family and I thought it was odd that a market would only have around 10 or so food stalls, but we quickly realized, wow! Each stall is manned by people of various backgrounds: Belfast folk manning the baked goods stall, Italians manning the olives, cans, and dried fruit stall, and others that we bought from were likely Irish, but wonderful nonetheless.

The chocolates seller was a friendly businessman, he wooed us with a rum-soaked raisins chocolate bar and single-malt whiskey bar. The Belfast bakers had amazingly soft and tangy Guinness bread to sample, we also bought one giant crumbly blueberry scone and one giant raspberry scone, along with a dense perfectly spiced gingerbread (we love gingerbreads).

Fresh, crisp, local apples at the fruit stall. Yummy-looking marmalade and jams at another stall. Quality dried fruits in the Italian's stall, and we found our family favorite- Portuguese sardines! And I mustn't forget the stall with steak and ale pies, duck confit, chicken and ham pies, and more- delicious!

It was a great selection for food souvenirs and quick bites.

Thank you for the recommendation, Fodor's! (yes, I bought their travel guide like a true tourist.)

My friends and I wanted to try some Ireland oysters because we heard they were supposedly super fresh. We were running out of time on our hunt to find them when I realized, 'I've got my trusty guidebook!!' And that's how we ended up here.

It was 12 Euros for 6 oysters and a glass of wine. Since there were four of us, the lady was nice enough to give us 4 cups of wine (yes, plastic cups - it's a farmer's market, what do you expect!) They even threw in an extra oyster!

SO FRESH! SO BIG! (cue that's-what-she-said joke). Compared to NYC oysters, these babies looked like they were on steroids! They also have this dipping sauce (had onions and was really vinegar-y, but good. But if you don't like the sour, you should just take the oyster straight.)

Didn't eat anything else from other stands because we just had lunch. However, I believe they had shish kebabs, crepes, and bread. Oh and FYI - Sheridans Cheesemongers was there (saw this place on Anthony Bourdain when he went to Dublin so thought this might be worth mentioning).

Definitely check out this farmer's market!

From around 10 am every Saturday the food market sets up in meeting house square under a brand new canopy.

There are numerous stalls and access is free to the public. There are stalls selling fresh breads, quiches, pies and all other types of pastries and deserts.
Cheese stalls selling some very nice Irish produced cheeses from all round Ireland, a fish monger and a butcher.
Fresh organic vegetables are available both in the square itself and a larger stall outside the square.
For those who like a little bit of Italy, there is a stall filled with different types of olives, sun dried tomatoes, pestos and olive oils.
Hot food is available from a sushi bar, crepe stands and a number of others with an oyster bar near by for the more adventurous.
Those that need a boost of head, since it is quite cold, there is a nice coffee stand where you can warm up or buy beans whole or ground to take home.

A great way to spend time in Dublin especially in the cold weather.

The tasty Giant sausage rolls at 3.50 are worth the stars - we didn’t try anything else because there weren’t many stalls and the others didn’t look that great, or have many people buying.
