Very informative

Great place to start gathering historic information. All the rest fit right in with this background to build around. Sad but very well done

This place is amazing. Creepy. Old. Full of history (no charm). The information was great. Guide was great. Get tickets on line ahead of time...they are cheaper and the tours are usually sold out at the door.

Great tour and full of insightful information about Ireland's history. The tour guide was excellent and well informed. Very sad in bits but thoroughly enthralling. I would recommend this visit to anyone with an interest in Irish history.

We went to the Gaol. It was very informative and very cool to see. I would recommend going. Buy your tickets on line before you go and then you don't have to be bothered trying to get them

We only had one full day in Dublin so it was critical to get the itinerary right. Kilmainham was our final attraction and ended a brilliant day on a high. The historic significance of this well restored gaol is fascinating and the guide was excellent at bringing the story of the 1916 uprising to life. A must if you're in... More

After visiting Kilmainham we could see why it is one of the top tourist attractions in Dublin. The jail is a fascinating place and gives a good insight into the history of Dublin, especially with 2016 being the 100 year anniversary of the Uprising. We had an amazing tour guide called Adam who was really enthusiastic and obviously very much... More

This is a very neat place to truly get an idea of how important the Easter Rising of 1916 is to the Irish. This was a great prison tour that really helps put into perspective what a 200+ year old prison stay would've been like. Is it must-see? Probably not, but definitely worth the small fee (€7) to kill an... More

I grew up in Dublin and had never visited the prison as my Grandfather had spent time there during the Rising. Now coming back as a tourist living in the states it was a very emotional experience and one I highly recommend to others. The tour guides are so knowledgeable and passionate and they transform you in time.
