Having been to the GPO museum, this has to be the next step. The 2 attractions taught me so much; living in England with no Irish background, I only had a very rough idea about 1916 and beyond before this week. The gaol and exhibits were in short, fascinating, our guide (Pat) excellent. Travel - got a 145 bus to... More

An unbelievable lesson in Irish history with regards to the 1916 Easter Rising. The amount of knowledge that you'll leave with is astonishing. The guides are passionate which makes the tour even more emotional. This place puts the events of 1916 right in front of you, including where all the martyrs were executed. The gaol is a somber reminder of... More

Loved this visit to Kilmainham Gaol. Really brought to life the history of the place and the tragedy of the 1916 Rising.

The history behind this prison is incredible. My family and I really enjoyed learning about the prison's history and would recommend that everyone visiting Dublin see Kilmainham Gaol.

The Kilmainham Gaol tour is a wonderful insight into Irish history. It's a guided tour and the guide we had was very knowledgeable about the gaol and the history of the political leaders that were imprisoned and died here during Ireland's revolution.

WE all loved this tour and the knowledge that we gained from it was incredible. Anne was a wonderful guide and the stories that she shared with us about the history of the jail really gave us an insight into what it was like for the Irish people. We felt a certain feeling of empathy that I'm not sure we... More

This tour was very informative on the history of this jail and the past for Irish independence from England. The main jail may look familiar as some movies had been shot in the jail.
