This was a short drive from the Fitzwilliam hotel. In my opinion this is a must see/do when in Dublin. Really interesting to see and hear the stories of prisoners during that time in history. You can walk through the cells and drafty hallways---really cool

Found the tour really interesting, greatly told by the older gent tour guide with a stick. He was around after to answer any questions as well which was great!

I've been several times with school but not since the museum and upgrade and I highly recommend it. The gaol is largely as it was left barring a few necessary health and safety upgrades and gives a genuine look at the harsh conditions and suffering...More

Had an absolutely amazing tour of Kilmainham Gaol - we opted for the longer and slightly more expensive one and were not disappointed. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and full of interesting facts! Definitely recommend and absolutely worth the walk from the city centre.

Loved this. We did the Little Museum one day, the Glasnevin Cemetary the next morning and the Gaol that afternoon. We were so happy we did these three wonderful attractions in that order. The three of these gel together and complement each other so well.

I loved the tour so much that I went twice within a week! The tour was thorough and entertaining in explaining the history of the Gaol and simultaneously, Ireland's independence. If you'd like to get to know quickly and informatively these two histories then a...More

About 25min by bus. (For ex. No 25a). The best way to discover Dublin by bus: buy a leap card (6€) and you can travel by city bus in Dublin the whole day. You get the leap card in several shops, I don't know if you can get... More

The tour itself is one hour. You are asked to arrive 15 minutes before your tour begins and you are directed to gather in a courtroom. Then your guide comes and calls your tour time. If you want to browse the museum... More
