If you want to get a feel for Dublin, walk the length of O'Connell street. Lots of statues and the GPO is a must.

Ireland is severely lacking when it comes to pretty cities. England has ten times more beautiful towns and cities with far more superior shopping streets to This. Filthy, grubby, poor service and Rude capital city locals. Don't waste you're time or money

I would say that it's probably hard to avoid O'Connell Street as you wonder around Dublin. I would strongly recommend the GPO Witness History Museum.

There are plenty of shops, eateries and statues here plus the General Post Office and stainless steel Spire. There is a longish pedestrian street off O'Connell Street which is well worth exploring.

If you're walking Dublin, this is a great street to stroll along and shop, or pop into a pub for a bite to eat. We walked the street on our way to other attractions.
