I have been buying cigars in this shop for years and I used to love the place, loved the staff, the welcome coffee and the display and choice of cigars.
The new layout doesn't make you want to stay there that much anymore, the choice of cigars is ridiculously low now and unfortunately the cigar I smoke the most, Edmundo is very very often out of stock....
The staff , and mostly one person is really not welcoming and you feel like you are disturbing or bothering him more than anything else, which is a shame
you feel bad asking for matches and you have the bad look when you do..
I unfortunately have to buy my cigars online now which is a shame as i used to love going to go to a cigar shop
Fox down the road is a superb shop but overpriced and staff barely nicer than Decent Cigar Emporium
The Dublin cigars aficionados deserve a nice place and we dont have one anymore...

Was in this shop today and spent over €400 on a humidor and several cigars as a gift. The young man serving me consistently made me feel uncomfortable and I felt like I was inconveniencing him throughout Was in the shop for at least 15 minutes, he didn't smile once and I really found him to be very cold and arrogant. The humidor itself has 3 seperate sets of alternative unconnected instructions and is very confusing. The chap didn't explain any aspect of what I had to do to set it up. Have to say I'm quite angry about the really, really poor customer service I received. I see several other similar reviews....excuse the pun but 'there's no smoke without fire' Most definetely would not recommend and won't be back.

I’d give it a 0 if I could. Shocking customer service, the man serving us did not know much about the cigars he was selling and then got very defensive about it - ending up being extremely rude. I ended up leaving empty handed, due to the poor service and lacking cigar selection. Would not recommend to tourists or locals.

We visited The Decent Cigar Emporium Mon. 25.07.2022. This shop was recommended by Ian the bartender at The Lombard where we were staying.
This was a mission request by my US friend to get him some Cuban cigars.
A brief point to note. The US still has product embargos from the 1960s on the communist government of Cuba. How foolish is that policy after 60+ years.
Neat location on the second floor of shops in the Grafton Street shopping district.
As we entered the fragrant shop we were greeted by a young man who looked as if he stepped out of some H.G. Wells' Steampunk world. But he was very knowledgeable and helpful by asking questions to determine our choices. Sorry that I lost the card with your name. So mission expertly accomplished.
Also we needed some local knowledge where to find an European convertible charger. He directed us to an electronics shop in the St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. Successful mission. Thank you.
Again expert staff & very fine cigars. Thank you.

Great little spot on Grafton street. I've been going here for years and have walked in and ordered online (during COVID) many times and always had a terrific experience. Knowledgeable staff, friendly and a great selection of cigars for any occasion. The also have a smoking room and put on events throughout the year. Can't recommend them enough from the first timer to the experienced cigar smoker.

Lovely setting to purchase cigars with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are always helpful suggesting alternatives or similar profile cigars to what i enjoy. Very happy to have this in my home town and cannot recommend enough.

I visited the emporium a couple of days ago while on a visit to Dublin and had a brilliant experience. I was served by a lovely young man and my husband got talking to the manager, a long haired gentleman. They gave us lots of information on the cigars and their origin, and made us feel really welcome.
P.S. I’m not one for reviewing but this is our second time in the store and both times we’ve left with a smile on our face.

Have been going to DCE since 2011 and have always had the most positive experiences. The team are friendly and approachable, provid care and guidance to new comers and experienced cigar enjoyers alike in their perfect purchase.
Excellent selection of both new world and cuban cigars in store, along with cigar and coffee accessories.
The return of their special events has been a particular highlight of 2023 and 2024 and are always a beautifully relaxing evening enjoying good quality cigars and good company.

I visited the store with my husband yesterday to buy cigars for a large upcoming event and I've never been more insulated in my life. We were not greeted at all when we entered the small store and there was only one other customer inside; no hello, no nod, nothing. As we were looking at the case with 'the cigar of the week' the shopkeeper walked away from the customer he was serving and reached over and very obviously closed the till drawer that he had left open. This action could only mean one thing and I immediately announced to my husband that we would not be spending our money there. The shopkeeper asked me what was wrong and I told him exactly what I had just witnessed. He attempted to protest and said that he wouldn't just leave his till open all day. The problem was, sir, you had and because you didn't like the look of us you felt the need to do it just at that instance. I have never been so insulted in my life! It was so insulting, in fact, that the other customer also turned without saying anything and walked out behind us with disgust. I will never shop somewhere that treats customers in that manner and I feel that it's important for others to know about our experience. We had good money to spend yesterday and in a way I'm glad that it happened because I would never want to support a business that treats people like that. Never judge a book by its cover! Our custom was much appreciated elsewhere where they were extremely friendly and very helpful and we have a large receipt that backs that up. I can't imagine how you will ever stay in business with treating people in this manner.

I have been coming here for the last 11 years a great selection of cigars I have smoked loads of cigars from all over the world and enjoy the advice from the staff so when I go away I know what to get and how to enjoy them I highly recommend them for all your cigar purchases thank you so much

Is this also a smoking lounge to sit, relax and enjoy a cigar?

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately nowhere in Ireland can you smoke indoors due to a smoking ban which was introduced in 2004. If you stop by the store we would be happy to recommend some fantastic outdoor areas which you can relax and enjoy a cigar in comfort. DCE
