The northside of Dublin is sadly lacking in parks and open spaces for kids to play, but just outside the city centre is Phoenix Park, with more open space and grass than you can shake a stick at. Take the Luas to Museum or the bus. It's a long walk from Conynham Road to the Visitor Centre but if you're... More

I first went round as a competitor in the Dublin City Triathlon and went back round later in the day to have a closer look. It is absolutely enormous and worth having a look round although you'll see a fraction of it! I went to the large cross and found it was where the Pope had given his address and... More

this is the best place in the world to simply relax and let your hair down. it's a huge place with large open spaces and greenery for everyone to enjoy. it's kept in fantastic shape and is very clean. you could come and have some fun here. the zoo is within the park, and is well worth seeing!

While visiting the Zoo recently I took the opportunity to 'explore' "The Park". Its a great resource to have in the very heart of the city. I always knew it was there but never spent much time there before!

From Connelly Station we walked to Pheonix Park, quite a long walk but a good way to see the sights. We hired bikes and spent half a day riding around this beautiful park. Our children aged 8 and 10 had a ball. We stopped for lunch at the visitor centre and just enjoyed a great day out. A very short... More

A vast and beautiful park that has it all - zoo, paved sidewalks, running trails, sports fields and historical monuments. The field around Papal cross offers a stunning views. A great place to go, whether you have an hour or a day.

I visit the Phoenix Park on a regular basis and would highly recommend it to visitors in Dublin. It is one of the largest enclosed parks in Europe, and if you like the outdoors and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then it is worth spending some time exploring the place. It is 15/20 minute from the... More

The park is so vast we only had time to see the southeast corner with the formal gardens and the Wellington monument. It is easy to see that this is a superb city park.
