Davy Byrnes was a Joyce hangout and figures in Ulysses. But what I like best about it is one of the world's great sandwiches: big chunks of baked salmon open-face on brown bread. Add a pint of Guinness and you have a perfect meal.

Really nice pub with great Guinness and lovely decor - Art Deco I think. Unfortunately the food was very old school Irish. And that's not a good thing. New Irish food is good, old school bad.

We often pop in here after shopping as it's really central but very peaceful and never too packed. We just had one drink on Friday after work but it was a nice way to unwind after a long week.
